Although the fancy picture with grass and slightly reflective pools looked pretty, it did not serve very well for a plan to solve the puzzle.
A sure fire way of solving this type of puzzle is by numbering every square away from one point. If a square is reachable by two different routes, just use the shorter route. After the other point is reached all you must do is trace back the route number by number.
