Prologue:
Sometime in Motaba in 1976, a disease wiped an entire village within 3 days. The government got its greedy hands on a sample and ended up bombing the entire village so the disease wouldn’t spread anywhere else. They thought they would never see the Motaba virus again…

They were wrong.

Time- Present Day
A monkey is illegally captured near a village in Motaba, Zaire in Africa. Upon arriving to America, it is smuggled out of the warehouse where it is unsuccessfully sold to a pet storeowner who has a client who wants to breed rare African monkeys. However, when the monkey turns out to be the wrong gender, the monkey is released into a small forest near Cedar Creek, California. However, when the smuggler gets home to his girlfriend, he passes out from sickness and his girlfriend gets infected. What no one has guessed yet is that the virus has mutated into a new form. A young man on the hospital staff performing blood samples accidentally gets sprayed with blood and receives the virus and does something you should never do when a new virus hits.

He coughs.

Hence, a movie theatre becomes exposed when he goes out with his girlfriend and now a town is in trouble. The government’s worst fears have come true as they race to try to find a cure for this virus. When the serum is made, however, it fails because the virus has now gone aerosol. With options running out, the military suggest destroying the town with a fuel-air bomb, the most powerful non-nuclear bomb there is. While this horrible discussion is in play, people are dropping left and right. That is when a small part of the town retreat to an auditorium to discuss their options. This is where our story begins:


Story:
As you are all gathered in the giant room, you finally hear some good news! The monkey has been caught and the possibility of a serum to save everyone is now at hand. There is rejoicing, dancing and drinking. However, the party is spoiled by the news that a plane is on the way to destroy the town with the bomb!! Strangely, enough communications are down. The phone lines have been cut! Weird. And now more bad news: The head of the Government medical staff has been killed! It will be very hard to find a cure for the virus with innocent medical staffers being offed. Rumor has it that some of the townspeople have been paid off to help kill the townspeople so that the government can go forward unabated with their plan to drop the air bomb. Your job is to stop them!!


There will be an account set-up to alert those of current outbreaks as they progress. A bit annoying at times, but it’s similar to the real thing. The mod controls this account.

[00] Newbies should try to make themselves familiar with the basic rules of mafia as described in the FAQ and theory sections on http://www.mafiascum.net (Reading some of Mgm's older games wouldn't hurt either)

As all the people are gathered in the auditorium discussing life in the....well...auditorium, all of a sudden the lights go out. A shot is fired out of nowhere and everyone ducks. The lights suddenly come back on and everyone slowly rises up from the floor. They look around to see if everyone is there, but alas, poor Amb is dead. Wait...no he's not! He's missing. No blood. No blood trail. No sound of a human being shot. However, there was the sound of a door opening and closing. Everyone looks around the place, but no sign of him at all. Odd. Where could he be?

Bullet shells are found in the wall where the attempted assassination was done. No blood on the shells either. What a weird mystery. Too bad no one saw the would-be assassin.

Well, as randomness (or luck) would have it, I came up with random vote: Da5id. I know there's already a vote on you, but if I didn't do what the numbers told me, it wouldn't be random.

As for the virus itself, I have a couple ideas, but they're not so much fully fleshed-out. I am curious to see how this will play out, especially with the quick deadline.
