Story:
"The human soul has a problem. It originates from outside time. So when history does change, it remembers both histories" - From studies on Time Travel, J C Owerglarse, 2292-2345
Ethan Chronos was dead. His body was taken away to be examined, but it mysteriously disappeared from the Autopsy storage room.
Several nights earlier a middle aged man known for hawking stolen goods arrived in town selling watches. One less than completely moral townie bought a watch and wound it forward - simply from curiosity. The hawker vanished, and the sun that was high in the sky - was suddenly unexpectedly setting. From that moment on the watches were selling like hot cakes, and exorbitantly. When Ethan was packing up to leave, someone stepped towards him with a knife. The hawker died, his cash and remaining watches taken. That hawker was Ethan Chronos, the killer was someone amongst you. And all the evidence of who it was was missing.
The town did not sleep easy that night, knowing the whole balance of history might be about to be upset. The town mayor took his Time watch that he had 'acquired' and donated to the town. It was broken open and tinkered with, so that it could be used to send people into the far far distant future - in the days when the earth was being burnt up by an over expanding sun. This would be the fate of all suspected Mafia time travellers. There were no trials. Just whoever the town suspected was enough. (The presumption was, once the mafia were known, you could travel back through time and pre-emptively kill them all).
And then it was time to sleep....

Special Rules
In time travel mafia, some rules are different.
1. At the deadline, if no-one has reached the lynch count, the highest equal are all lynched.
2. Roles are not revealed upon death.
3. History is a fluid thing, but no ones original alignment will change. Town are always town. Scum are always scum.
4. If you die and are resurrected, you will miss any night choices that were skipped in the interim.
5. Checking your PMs before you post after DAYbreak is critical. A history change may have affected you. It would pay to know about these.
6. The number of time watches in the game is unknown to anybody but me.
7. If a player dies, their timewatch is taken with them.
8. The mafia win under normal mafia conditions. They must out number the town.
9. The town win only when the scum are all killed.

Also,
If you have the ability to time travel, you may travel to any night of the game. If you want to travel to night 100, be my guest, but dont expect it to achieve anything. You may not travel to night 0, or night negative anything. You can also only travel back to nights - not days.
Obviously, if anyones role explictly gives you the right to contradict any of the above then you can ignore what I just typed. I can neither confirm or deny if there are any such roles in the game. |

Im missing some choices. Ill send out PMs to those who I havent heard from tonight.
If you havent confirmed to me by PM, can you do that as well thanks.
I intend day break to occur between 6PM and 10PM Tuesday night. Be aware that I am +12 GMT, so this is earlier than it seems to the rest of the world. I will keep the titles up to date with the expected minimum number of hours left... |

Reality One
Day One
The town awoke and came together. There was one player missing, and an investigation of their house revealed a lot of blood. A lot. But no body could be found. The house belonged to sycko.
There are 14 alive. It will take 8 to lynch. A deadline of 2 weeks today is established. At this time in 2 weeks the day will close. Whoever leads the vote count will be lynched regardless of the number of votes had. If the day is going slow, or not much discussion - I will shorten it as need be...
It is time to vote |

I'm not entirely sure that I understand how this game works, but I assume that the reason for Sycko's body not being found is because he traveled through time. Maybe we'll suddenly find his body on day two or something.
Other than that, I'm just checking in. _________________ 2500th member give or take 3 |

| Lauritz: Bodies probably aren't found for game mechanics. Since people can be brought back to life (I suppose by a time traveling doctor), revealing their roles would complicate matters. |

Ill set the cut off for 7 full days from here - but I will monitor the conversation and voting - if it is going nowhere then I will shorten it.
I presume the convention is the GL convention that I, being in NZ, will never go to unless I win a lot of money |

Yes, I played in a time travel game on mafiascum recently. I think mathcam modded it. Didn't get too play much. Was killed off on night 2. |

So let me get this straight: assuming we have a time-traveling doctor, that doctor can go back in time and save Sycko, thus resurrecting him/her? _________________ smile |

If that's the case, then we could be effectively playing day one again and again until the time doctor is lynched/killed. However, even if this is the case, we could still build our suspicions of who is scum and who isn't based entirely off of posts. _________________ 2500th member give or take 3 |

| If the mafia can time travel they are clearly going to carpet bomb their kills. We need to think of a good answer to that. |

Carpet bomb? What does that mean?
If a doc travels back to save sycko, and the next night the mafia travel back to kill the doc, I think sycko will still be alive. At least, that's how I interpret this:

Except they already killed Sycko on night 1. I think they're killing everyone on night 1 instead. The earlier they kill someone, the more of their night choices they negate. So doctors might want to consider saving someone on Night 1 even if they aren't dead yet. _________________ smile |

Then we must find the mafia before they kill the doctor. I assume I'm getting this time travel thing correct. So while the doctor's alive, we still have chance after chance to find them. It sounds like in our favor. _________________ "Love is the absolute expression of the human perfection" -Me!

That sounds about right. Unfortunately, the doc could resurrect a mafia killed by the SK. And how do we know we don't lynch the doc? Meh. |
