Regardless of whether L'layne intentionally looked it up as a reason to vote, the fact remains. The quote he mentioned is very suspicious indeed. |

Simple. He's assuming there's 5 mafia. He could've said pick any "group of players" "any number of players", instead he specifically mentioned 5. To me that looks like a Freudian slip. |

That does it. The dogs have spoken and Loudmouthlee gets kicked out of the kennel. Too bad he was on the town's side. As spike, a paranoid townie, he could have been an asset.... or a liability...

DAY 2:
One dead night 1, two dead night 2, extrapolation does not predict a very good spell for the town.... Sam Sheepdog (IS) has been torn apart. One doctor down. And Hong Kong Phooey (rm) is no longer intact as well. You have lost a vigilante too.
Oh well, can't be helped. Sixteen barkers left, nine for a lynch. |

That initial post seems to be some heavy metagaming this early. I don't think it's wise, and it seems awfully scummy. |
I agree, that's crap reasoning. The scum kill could've hit a multitude of experienced players. There's no reason to assume a relative new player was involved. |

So it looks like we have 2 evil killing groups. Yet both deaths were the same killing method, "torn apart". I don't really know what to make of that.
I'm not sure what I think about Mgm anymore.... there's a few that I'm more suspicious of anyway, and who have said less... so I'll wait a bit before casting my vote today. |

His first post yesterday seemed like it was almost bait to bring up a lot of discussion and create false suspicions on anyone who commented on it without keeping himself involved saying it was just slightly above a random vote. And after the discussion on Samadhi's death unfolded afterwards, he quietly had nothing more to comment on it. |

I don't think it's really a reversal. Mgm said that rm's reasoning sucked, and then he said that it wasn't cause for suspicion.
I tend to agree. rm's post was, what, the second or third in the entire game? He was responding to a post made by Jedo, pointing out the flaw in his reasoning. I don't see how that is cause for suspicion either.
As for voting... I'll vote: Werebear, seeing as I'm the other one on two votes, and the furball isn't talking. |

Apart from my random votes, the only comment I did make was that we have nothing to go on yet. I still think that we have nothing to go on. There are plenty of players who have said nothing since this new grim day for the town dawned, and I can't see any reason to join any bandwagon because they haven't yet posted. I'll keep my fir dry till I've seen a bit more interaction.
Many years ago I used to post as "headless chicken" when the town got silly. It's not yet at that stage, but we're not excelling ourselves are we?
=<Ponders on rolling 2xD4, but decides to wait for a bit.>= By the way, I'm always very careful to make sure my dice rolls are unbiased, so I'll fos anyone who suggests that they're unfair (mathematically).

I think im beginning to understand why IS mindlessly bandwagoned, with Blah Blah comments....
Can we at least bandwagon someone into role claiming, even if we all then back off.
Its either that or we need to work out another strategy.
Otherwise this game is going to devolve into pure chance, and the sort of chance that mafia can probably stick their mealy hands in and control. |

MadMax, I don't think "IS[Doc] got lucky with his choice night 1". More likely the vigilante, as prudent as he is, didn't target anyone.
L'layne, when you say "we were struck by...", who's "we"? Perhaps you are part of a group? That said, the rest of your post (78) seems to me sensible, so I'm fossing Talitha for accusing you of "looking for any excuse to jump on".
And Mackay, you're saying Samadhi gets "attacked by newer players", but your voting pattern is inconsistent with your observation. That does not merit a vote yet, but I might change my mind. |

Where on earth did I say that?!
I said newer players were just as likely to attack Samadhi as experienced ones.
I also said the "logic" for voting rm yesterday was crap.
I stand by both of those, so what does that tell me... hmmm, that EVERYONE in the town MIGHT be guilty, and that it's better not to post anything of substance at all on day 1, lest you get attacked.
And my voting somehow manages to be inconsistent with this?
Defensive? Maybe. I don't like having words put in my mouth.

I thought I lifted that verbatim from post #5 in page 1. I didn't intend to put words in your mouth.
After that post, you never made any more reference about Samadhi, and you never said "newer players were just as likely to attack Samadhi as experienced ones", contrary to that statement you just made.
I am not attacking people, but merely trying to weigh their words against their actions to find any inconsistency. In your particular case the inconsistency is that you're voting players who are not "newer".
Also, you're voting me out of spite. Such retaliatory behavior without the slightest benefit of reason works against the town. |

Yes, half of my sentence was lifted verbatim. The "also known" might have been useful, considering the fact that my point was quite obviously that our suspicion should not be limited to the "experienced players". (By the way, I am on the list of "less experienced players" - why would I want to bring suspicion on myself?)
So you have taken a phrase by me out of context and made it mean something it doesn't. That gives me very little reason to unvote you.
| sweetwater wrote: |
| you never said "newer players were just as likely to attack Samadhi as experienced ones", contrary to that statement you just made. |
Not verbatim, certainly - seeing as we're all apparently such fans of things being implicitly stated word-for-word without any leeway for rephrasing.
My post that you linked:
| Quote: |
| Samadhi is also known to get attacked by newer players, who find him intimidating. |
was in response to this statement by Jedo:
| Quote: |
| I would like to point out that the mafia probably contains experienced players because they attacked Sam who is also an experienced player. |
The implication was not that newer players are more likely to attack Samadhi. I never said in post #5, "Jedo, I disagree". I was pointing out that "new" players should not be discounted from suspicion.
I have gone from being annoyed and slightly suspicious at your misinterpretation of my words, to being slightly less annoyed and far more suspicious. My vote stays.
What is detrimental to the town, sweetwater, is people who try to twist the words of others in order to cast suspicion. A misunderstanding is understandable, but this is a concerted effort to incriminate me. |

Feh, that was not very clear.
Jedo said: "I would like to point out that the mafia probably contains experienced players because they attacked Sam who is also an experienced player. "
I responded: "Samadhi is also known to get attacked by newer players, who find him intimidating."
Also being the key word. Also. You know, that part of my sentence you conveniently dropped. I did not say "Samadhi is exclusively known to get attacked by newer players", or anything like. My meaning, which I believe was clear (though we can ask the rest of the town about that), was that killing Samadhi is not exclusively in the realm of experienced players.
The fact that you have twice interpreted my post to mean that I was trying to cast suspicion on that half of the town in which I am included, has led me to believe that you are quite evil, or quite desperate to make me appear so. |
