That's more like it..the feeling of being a Sox fan. Things were too smooth a few hours ago.

Sox - 60% win probability, top 8th (in a rain delay)
Rays - 25% win probability down 7-6, 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth, man on second.

EDIT: Phew...top of the 9th, Yanks still up 7-6. Rays down to 18%

Rays and Yanks tied on a pinch hit home run with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth and we're headed to extra innings. ESPN says 55% win percentage, but I'm sure it's more like 99% at this point.

Sox game supposedly resuming in the next 15 minutes, I'm sure they've just watched the Rays come back from 7 down.

Still haven't forgiven Dusty Baker. Or the team after I dropped $150 to go see the Cubs lose to them 14-3 last year, for that matter.

Other Red teams I'm rooting against: Wings (NHL), Hawks (Miami University), and Raiders (Texas Tech). I'm none too keen on the Crimson Tide, either.

How do you feel about Liverpool (the Reds), Manchester United (the Red Devils) and the Spainish National Team (La Roja)?

W00t! The Cards are in the postseason, having come from 10 1/2 back to overtake Atlanta. They face the best team in the NL, but they took three of four in Philadelphia just over a week ago.

Orioles have tied the Sox in the bottom of the ninth. Man on second with two outs. Sox win probability down to 33%.

I predicted this misery hours ago.

EDIT: Sox lose the game in the bottom of the ninth. It's up to the Yankees, but it doesn't really matter. I can't see the Sox beating the Rays tomorrow anyway.

Epic chokes by both Atlanta and Boston.

I still think the 1995 Angels choke is the worst of all time. But these come close.

Look up The Phold. The 1964 Phillies had a 6 1/2 game lead with 12 to play. They proceeded to lose ten straight. The Cards went on to win the series that year.

Well the Indians finished the season in second place 2 games under .500...in my opinion thats pretty damn good considering majority of the year we played with rookies and youngsters instead of our key players. Now I think if Jim Thome stays, and they can alternate him with a healthy Travis Hafner and if Choo and Sizemore can stay healthy and Carmona can find his groove again then there's no reason we shouldn't make the playoffs next year. Maybe even sign Manny Ramirez I'm sure he'd still make an impact after his 100 game suspension is over, because that would still leave 60 games for him to make a contribution. And who wouldn't want to see Ramirez and Thome back together? Ecstatic Happiness

As soon as I read this, I knew it was the kiss of death for the Red Sox.

Once a Sox fan, always a Sox fan. I've got that same sense of optimism clashing with pessimism that summed up everything prior to 2004.

Seems prophetic now.

I actually thought it was this post that was the kiss of death.

My "Hit him in the head" strategy seems better and better.

Also 3 or 4, not 2, since the valiant and heroic Rangers lose each time the Hated Cardinals win.
