First off, I just want to say AHHHHH!!!
I'm really really really sorry I wasn't around over the weekend... it just sorta happened like that. Man, I missed a lot, but I think I've read it all and have a general idea of what's going on.
Last night, since Talitha was gonna kill Shteven, I protected you, cR. I don't know why, logic kinda escapes me at this point. I think it had to do with the possibility of multiple targets on Shteven, and me having no way to stop them all. Maybe you got saved from a random kill though.
I'm really in a bind here. I know Talitha needs to die, but then I'm still absolutely not sure that cR doesn't also need to. Especially because there can be only one. So one of us has to... but my point is that I still think you can be scum. I will most likely follow cR and Shteven before him and get rid of Talitha. I will post again within 8 hours, probably sooner, likely to kill Talitha, very slim chance of wanting another no lynch, and no chance of killing cR. Talitha, you should know there's no chance of me killing cR. There's no point in you voting for him. Why would I kill a possible scum when I know that you'll just kill me tonight?
So, if anybody has anything else to say, do it now. I'll keep reading over the course of the next few hours, and see if somebody has anything else to add, but I doubt it. I think everything that's gonna get said is out there. I'll just be re-reading what's happened.
Sorry again for the delay.
Oh, shoot, I forgot some things.
First, cR, your 50% chance of two townies winning is impossible, I think, with the only one person wins rule. Also, I don't like the other half of those odds... why did you say 'GF cloudRunner'? I just don't see why you'd even leave that open to speculate at this point.
Here's what I see... we lynch Talitha. If cR is GF, then I think he might have a 50% chance to win (LML factor). If he's not, then he probably has the same odds of winning. Or, we no lynch. Talitha probably targets me, as I can protect cR. We'd have to hope cR can block or doc. Unless he's GF, in which case he kills Talitha and probably wins. Or we lynch cR, Talitha kills me and (possibly) has the LML factor to deal with too.
Screw it. I've thought this long about it, and I don't think I'm gonna come up with anything better. Let's see what happens then. I'm ready to let fate decide my... umm... fate.
Here goes.
Seriously.
Woo!
OMG! VOTE: TALITHA!!
BTW, Shteven, sorry for doubting you. I'm glad your death isn't on my hands. |

The fact that I was wrong about Shteven just makes me so much righter about you now!
Hagfy is king-maker now. But seeing as I have confessed and you havent - he will have a shred of doubt about whether you are scum and he won't be voting for you. I've resigned myself to lose this now - twice over. Both as my town role and now as SK. Which sucks. |

But I'm too damn soft.

Aww, thanks. You played it pretty well though... in my opinion anyway. All the way through I was never sure about you. I'm still not!
Well then, as far as I can tell, go town!
Man, that was pretty crazy for a while... I'm pretty sure it's still not over though. I guess we'll have to see what the night brings us, assuming there is a night.
And cR, I meant to say last post that I was indeed grateful to you for saving us from Talitha. So thanks! |

I've been following this thread obsessively. Had the town lost, I would have felt solely responsible.
I nearly went insane when y'all voted no-lynch yesterday!
Anyway, it mightn't be over. *shuts mouth* |

And finally, you take a long, hard look at Tally...
"You ARE SCUM!" - Cloudrunner
"You are the GF!" - Tally
"OMGers!" - Hagfy
And, with the OMG vote cast, Tally has been given the final game over card, ending the game...
Talitha - Role - Millionaire Club turned Press Your Luck Vig (Ken Jennings - PROTOWN turned MAFIA*) - Dead.
TOWN WINS! More later! _________________ -LmL

Really quickly... GREAT GAME EVERYONE! This was actually one of the most exciting bits of Mafia I have ever been a part of. Thanks for making it worth it.
I decided.. from the beginning, since I love reading this stuff, I would give a top 5 list of the town (if the town won) and give the MVP, in my eyes, the million. So, in reverse order... your top 5....
#5 - Mackay - Although she killed MGM, she was instrumental to the game and really did an excellent job of bridging logistical arguments -
Mackay's Prize: $100 GL Dollars
#4 - Hagfy - Seeing a CLAIMED doc alive until the end warms my heart. It doesnt normally happen. You ultimately made the right decision, and your protections caused fits for the mafia. Nice job -
Hagfy's Prize: $1,000 GL Dollars
#3 - ManaSpryte - Took a gamble Day 1 and kep himself alive enough to draw DOUBLE fire from Talitha. Was also instrumental in lynching the quiet Dan. Nice job.
ManaSpryte's Prize: $10,000 GL Dollars
#2 - Shteven - Revived, and almost killed again. You sought long and hard on lynches that you believed it. You really were an active player and your logistical skills made you rather strong. Excellent, especially for your first game. You're a natural.
Shteven's prize: $100,000 GL Dollars
#1 CloudRunner - Wow. Dude, that was the best pro-town playing i've seen in a long time. You definately brought your A game here. There isnt too much to say besides you made very few mistakes. Bravo.
Cloudrunner wins the GL MILLION!
Honorable Mention - Dan and Talitha
You guys were GREAT scum. The town was VERY lucky and stumbled across Scum really early. However, you guys held on, and Tally, I love you. You almost pulled that out and won it for the scum.
Dan and Tally's prize - Home Versions of Game Show Mafia
Thank you all for playing! Please, feel free to post comments! _________________ -LmL

I'm guessing I should have held out until the deadline the second to last day? Any thoughts about that from people who've been around for a while? I was checking the thread roughly twice a day at that point, and waiting was just getting harsh. I think I clearly explained I was giving up rather than changing my mind; how would you guys have tried to convince hagfy?
PS. Thank you cloud for blocking talitha _________________ Bush/Cheney '08: It's unconstitutional, but when has that stopped us? |

Cool, a million GL bucks. Thanks!
Wow.. that was a good game. It sure got wild at the end. I think I spent the entire game debating whether I knew what I was doing or if I was completely lost. Yesterday was probably the climax for me since I didn't want to kill Talitha, knowing that another scum was still alive. I was split between voting either Shteven or Hagfy. I didn't want to do a no lynch and I didn't even think it remotely possible that Talitha was scum as well as SK until today, when I saw that no one else had been killed. Also, before blocking Talitha, I asked the mod if blocking her would stop both her target kill and the random kill. He responded with "Yes, All or nothing". It sounded strange, but after thinking I then realized that it was very possible that Talitha was the final scum. After Shteven blew himself up, I looked back at her other posts and again I was struck hard when Talitha voted for me after suggesting Shteven be revived after the mafia targetted him.
The setup was pretty interesting. It became confusing at times and I had to rethink my whole strategy when people changed roles. But we still managed to win, despite the disappointing number of wasted townie kills (including my botched vigilante kills, sorry Nanook and Coron). That was probably my biggest mistake, other than playing dumb about my role.
I think Talitha deserves MVP. She did an awesome job staying alive after admitting to being an SK. I was starting to fear that Hagfy might actually go with Talitha and lynch me.
Thanks for a great game though, good modding LML! _________________ Forever is such an unpleasant word |

It's a shame I didn't make the top list, but I've finally forgiven Mackay for killing me. It stopped a whole lot of nonsensical theories and - in the end - narrowed down the field in a way which facilitated the town win.
Good game everyone! |

Your block last night was my death knell, Cloud. I knew I wouldn't be able to swing another no-lynch, so I kinda gave up at that point
When I got my role-switch, I changed from being pro-town and Mackay's partner... to being mafia and Mgm's partner. That's why it looked like there was an SK, because I had the vig role.
There was no SK.
Town definitely deserved to win that. So it's all good. Congrats to the winners. |

Yay. So, did I 'win' the game too? Not that I particularly care about winning mind you, it's just that I've never been alive until the end before (in the few games I've played). That was pretty fun though. It definitely showed me that I have a lot to learn.
Shteven, yeah, you should have held on until the deadline and gotten her lynched that way. I thought about it after you died and realized it was completely stupid on my part to no lynch as opposed to lynching her. I mean, I think I was the one to voice the idea that she was both scum and SK, and then I didn't follow it through. Like I said, I have a lot to learn.
..of course maybe I should have also just lynched Dan when I had the chance instead of getting all suspicion cast on me. Bah... stupid gut feelings that I don't act on.
cR, I agree with LML. I thought you did a really good job. I may not have realized it at the time, but go hindsight! You definitely deserved to actually win it all.
Thanks LML! |

You did great, Hagfy. And there's nothing to be ashamed of in having voted for a no lynch (as opposed to, say, murdering the vigilante). It was the endgame and you weren't sure. If there had been two killers, it would have been the right thing to do.

I really don't deserve the honorable mention, I was acting scummy the whole game and it was only a matter of time before people like Mackay were on my case again. In fact it was the main reason I was lynched when I couldn't defend myself (which I STILL can't believe you guys actually followed through on, I was SURE you would let me go till the next day, just becasue of that feeling of killing someone who can't say anything. Had Tally swtiched allegiances earlier she could have turned it on Jedo. ).
By that day I was really sweating. I was frustrated at how crippled we were from the start and I let it effect my game (I had delayed voting for Brian and Sycko when it was clear they were doomed). I knew I was in deep shit on Night 3 when I was the last mafia, the top suspect, with two cops, a doc and a powerblocker out there.
But things just kept coming that gave me new hope in the game. The modkills benefited me greatly, and then Tally joined my side. It was at this point that I realized taht this game really WAS slanted towards the mafia by its very design. The more the town posted, the more chaos would occur because of the Mysetry boxes. Odds were that a recipient of the box would either die or turn mafia (though I must say the revival was annoying).
Anyway, when Tally switched to my side I just told her to keep posting, and again, it almost worked . I was working behind the scenes trying to prevent my own lynch, but it was too late. Had the Jedo-bandwagon stuck we would have been fine.
Tally played scum waaay better than I did though. I was obvious, she was downright devious. I'd blame my poor performance on rustiness on playing as mafia, but I think I might just suck . Tally was a natural, she was able to predict exactly how people would react, and what position she could take that would be the most plausible and yet most controversial. I spose that was my mistake, I though being mafia was about avoiding the spotlight and avoiding contorversy when it seems to be about embracing it when you need to like Tally did. Well done.
...but I still take great pride in nailing a doc on the second night, and then a cop on the very next night. Your posting gave you guys away. DMI was posting just enough to show he cared about the game, but didn't want to draw attention to hislef (and pseudo-investigation of asking the MOd if you were a doc or cop-type also helped, Sycko's ability was handy). Shteven, you followed up in Mana's posting a little too quick. In fact, I'd say you shouldn't have been on Brian's bandwagon at all. Backing him up on probably wasn't necessary since who's gonna argue against a cop?
Great game everyone. I still think if the mafia had just one day to catch our breathe we would have won. This probably means the second day since me and Sycko totally dropped the ball on Day 2. We split the bandwagon between Dranco and Jedo, and neither ended up dying. It's pretty awful when Day 2 is your turning point and the rest is just a struggle to take down as many townies as possible.
I knew that damn powerblocker was gonna be trouble. _________________ Rokk. uuddlrlrbastart |

To be honest, Dan, knowing you couldn't talk was only part of my sudden defense of you. The other part was my fear and semi-belief that Tally was scum. I agreed with her that you seemed scummy... then I got scared after we forced Jedo to vote you. Especially considering her quite innocent error with the PMs. *shifty eyes* It didn't look innocent, ok?
You couldn't defend yourself, and Tally, who I believed to be scum, was pushing for your lynch. I panicked and started backpedalling, and ended up bringing suspicion on myself! Luckily it was this that saved me from going completely off the deep end, being-wrong-wise... I figured if I was drawing suspicion from cloudRunner, who I wholeheartedly believed innocent, I must be headed in the wrong direction. =]
Then I simultaneously suicided and killed our vigilante... *stops pretending to be wise* |

I don't know about not following up on mana. I mean, I tried not to post 4 minutes after him, but a good townie should listen to the cop and make a lynch happen. I didn't want to seem scummy, and I think I did a good job of looking like a townie; an active one, but an innocent one. No real doubts were raised against me for a while, and then I got game overed and was cleared until talitha began her rain of lies (which frustrated me at the time)...but probably only because they worked so well. It was well played, but since she came after me, I could easily see through them, yet somehow, I couldn't get everyone to vote for her at the time. Thank god cloud (triple) blocked her _________________ Bush/Cheney '08: It's unconstitutional, but when has that stopped us? |
