Only two people escaped. Both under extraordinary circumstances.
As for Moody not killing indiscriminantly, well, Moody has a big temper. Remember Malfoy the weasel? And threatening Dursley at the end of the 5th book? I could see Moody being a vig. |

1. Draco was turned into a weasel by the imposter Moody. Anyhow, this argument is getting silly.
2. Robinson doesn't seem to be responding to the bandwagon. So in the interests of doing something productive - at least until Robinson gets replaced - unvote, vote: Uraj. Let's try and wake up someone else.
3. FoS: TCM
TCM, I understand your predicament, but I think you'll agree it's a little suspicious. Can you at least offer us a name, if not a role? Anything at all? |

Well, I agree with dybeck regarding Robinson... it doesn't seem like he is playing. I was hoping he'd say something, but apparently not. Hmm... so I'll unvote: Robinson and vote: Uraj. Unfortunately, Jedo won't be back until Sunday, so that's about another week that we'll presumably be without this character.
When I was asking about non-speaking characters/afflictions earlier, it was moreso directed towards Uraj, since I'm pretty sure he's actually around. Robinson has just seemed like a no-show from the start...
Also, wow. I really have no idea what you guys are talking about. Harry, Ron, and Hermoine (right?) are the good guys, yeah? And Dumbledore was good? That's all (I think) I know... |

For those of you who speculated that Robinson light have some post limitation, I consider that to be quite impossible. Sure, someone could have a spell cast upon them, but we read about that in the morning news. And there could be a limitation inherent in his role, but not a total exclusion on posting. With the problems getting participation in GL mafia games, no mod in their right mind would have a role that could post and no one knew about it. I'll leave the lurker/deserter until he's replaced.
Going back to my original vote. unvote: Robinson; vote: Hagfy |

Well, yes, the spell thing is pretty unlikely, as something like that should show up in the news. As I said, I was just throwing out possibilities. I'd rather not have something I thought of but didn't suggest come back and hurt us later.

I assume you meant could *not* post, but who said nobody knows about it? Uraj could be a silent mason/scum partner, no? Again, I don't know if those potential silent characters listed earlier are good or evil. Also, by unvoting Robinson, that still leaves Uraj, the other lurker/deserter. Even though neither one has posted, you seem to be comfortable voting for Robinson, but not Uraj.
As for all my silenced speculation, all it would really take is for Uraj to post... then I wouldn't need to focus on it any longer. |

I'm here. I was on vacation, although who cballs is or how s/he would know that is completely unknown to me, if it wasn't actually a joke. Give me a bit more time to catch up, and I'll post something concrete. In the meantime, I'd appreciate any votes set purely to get me to talk to be taken off me, as I'm now talking. That's all for now.

Regarding the Moody thing: At some point, I think in the 4th book, it says something about Moody being the only Auror, or one of the only Aurors, to never kill anyone, even when Aurors were granted killing rights by the Ministry. So vig seems practically impossible with him. |

Hi guys, sorry for the non participation. I lost my brain somewhere and forgot to check the GL forum at all for a while. But I'm here now.
As another note I think the non-speaking rople related thing is highly unlikely: there was a basis in other games but I don't see one in this. |

Alright, well, it would appear I can stop my silent speculation. Sorry for wasting your time with that grand idea.
Uraj, thanks for showing up, but can you give us anything more than that? I'd just like to see what you have to say now that you're finally here...
And Quailman, I'm still curious why you seemed willing to bandwagon the potential lurker/deserter Robinson, but the the equally likely lurker/deserter Uraj. That just doesn't make sense to me. |

No, Dybeck. As I posted in response to LML earlier, I really don't want to give away my role, or even my name. I don't think I could give away my name without giving away my role. And at this point in the game, the town knowing my role is not a good thing.
Normally, at this point I would try to get the town moving in a profitable direction. Unfortunately, no one has offered anything worthwhile yet, nor done anything really scummy yet, except possibly me. I need to re-read my old posts and try to figure what you guys are seeing that I'm not. I could vote for Bayard, who seems to think I'm scummy no matter what I say -- but if he were scum, why would he be going after me, of all people? I'm not an investigator of any kind -- that much I feel safe revealing. I can't imagine what I could have done or said that would make him think I was a special threat to him if he were scum, any more than I can understand what makes him so sure I'm scum if he's innocent. Bayard has me completely mystified. And aside from him starting a bandwagon on me, which I'm in a unique position to see the futility of furthering, all we've accomplished so far is getting Robinson and Uraj to post. I have less than nothing to go on. Would someone, anyone, please offer something, anything, helpful?
I never thought you could be zugzwanged in mafia. _________________ smile |

I think TCM is worried that the mafia will instantly recognize his role as useful.
It's far too early (IMHO) to start claiming, anyway. 18 alive makes for quite a few more days. |

I did, Digit. The town knowing my role is bad at this point -- bad for the town, not necessarily bad for just me (although that's possible). There are several possible reasons for this, a few of which are:
1. I'm a doctor who can't protect himself, and I don't want the mafia to know.
2. I'm immune to nightkills, but not lynching, and I want the mafia to waste a few rounds on me before they realize it.
3. I'm in a mason group with other players who, for whatever reason, don't want to have to all come forward this early.
4. I lose part or all of my role ability if my name becomes known.
5. I have a one-shot power that could be game-winning near the end if I have the element of surprise. _________________ smile |

i don't see how revealing your name would make a difference to 3 or 5, and 4 seems wildly improbable.
If it's 1, I'd imagine you're dead tonight anyway. And if it's 2, I think I'd be prepared to lose that boon in exchange for clearing the most suspicious person in the game. |

Well, I just want to say that I agree with Quailman and... someone else, I thought in that I am willing to have faith in TCM for now as:
| The Cheshire Man wrote: |
| The wildly improbable/inexplicable is the norm in GL Mafia. |
However, TCM, you have to admit that a certain amount of suspicion is warranted. Anybody could just claim that they have powers they shouldn't mention now. I'm really just wondering if there is anything else you can give us... like maybe an idea of when you feel it safe to let your powers be known, or when you might be able to prove that you are indeed on our side? I am trusting in you right now based of nothing but some kind of gut feeling, but I think if you could offer us something small that we could associate with you, but that wouldn't give you away, it might quell some of the anger against you. I know it would make it easier for those of us who trust you now to continue doing so. If this is not possible for you, well, it would make sense in the way things have gone so far, and I'll just have to hope that I'm siding with the right people.
As for my vote, I don't see a reason to change it now. |
