Since the police chief and mayor instituted its mandatory lynching policy a couple of weeks ago, the property values in Mafiaville have dropped by more than 20%. Perhaps something about the paranoia, or the long boring town meetings every day, or having to work nights, or the chance of dying young doesn't appeal to the market.
The mafia seem to like it, though. They've been buying all the cheap land and building casinos on every corner, which at least gave the town a heap of money from tourism. But then they blew up the mayor's house and left the chief of police at the bottom of the river. In isolation either those two events would have been welcomed, but when they happened in the same night, people began to think that they'd gone too far.

When mikehart heard that the mafia were coming to visit him, he wasn't scared or anything, in fact just the opposite. He had been trying to get into the family for at least a week now, and today they had finally returned his messages...
He put up a "Welcome Mafia" sign, he (wisely) spell-checked his slideshow on "My plan for overunning the town", and he was preparing the snacks when they arrived.
When he opened the door, the mafia told him he was really annoying and demanded he stop calling them. Then they shot him twice in the chest.
mikehart, Evil Townie - shot
Somewhere across town, Mgm received a message telling him someone had been stabbed. This was odd, since usually nobody bothered to tell him about the location of any of these attacks, so he had taken to driving his ambulance around hoping to be in the right place at the right time.
Unfortunately, when he followed up on this transmission, he discovered he was in the right place, but at the wrong time. If he had arrived only moments later, he could have saved himself from being stabbed... Of course, this logic is flawed, since he can't both be attacked and come to his own rescue, but we'll let him believe what he wants. He did die in the service of the town, after all.
Mgm, Doctor - stabbed
It is day 1. 6 to lynch

Let's see if we can get a scum lynched today. Of course it won't be easy, it never is on day 1. That's why I'll have to start with a random vote: Quagmire _________________

No, it's because I just realized that it would be the third vote on him, which would look scummy as a random vote from anyone. _________________ 1000oclock.com |

Random votes are not all we have on day 1. We also have discussion. Random votes are a way to generate some discussion, but after the number of random votes we've had, more will not benefit the town. |

Hmm. Porro. Maybe you should've stuck to Quaggy. He's not around. Either prod him or lose him, I say.
If you want to switch to Quag and get rid of him by your next post, I'll join that or else, I will just vote for wordcross the leader.
Need to make something happen. No?
Now you ask - why not wordcross now. Well, an active participant is better than evil lurkers. |

Quagmire has already informed the mod of the fact that he'll be absent for the beginning of the game. Lynching a player who isn't around to defend themselves is a mafia tactic. _________________ Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like? |

So random votes are against your policy, but joining a bandwagon that started as a random vote is not. And you're willing to lynch someone who has informed us that he'll be away until Wednesday. If I weren't already voting for you, I'd vote for you. |

Correct. Random voting Tom, Dick, Harry or Sally does not achieve anything. Bandwagonning does. Whether it started as a random vote or not, is irrelevant. The bandwagon isn't random. It's meant to lynch someone. Unless they claim something useful. This does not mean I like to play "hop a wagon, force a claim" either.
I forgot Quagmire is grounded. Sue me.
Like I said, I'd vote for any leader and the only reason I'd off Quag is that non participants make the games drag. Take a look at Charmed Mafia.

You could've atleast bothered to call it OMGUS.
And your point with those quotes was?
The game of "hop a wagon, force a claim" implies continuing this behaviour multiple times a day. I do not aim to continue this behaviour myself, or endorse it in any way. If/when you claim, nothing short of cop or something similar will make me unvote. I don't buy townie, vig, blocker...that kind of thing. Notice it's a personal opinion. So...
As far as I'm concerned, if thss bandwagon fails to get you to claim or lynched, I draw back and wait till the town thinks they've found a lynch victim. At which time I'll vote.
I take an initiative in starting the bandwagons early on, ONLY. I don't take an initiative in taking bandwagons forever. I've told you what will make me unvote. I don't mind sacrificing a townie in the early stages. So, if after this wagon, the others go running after someone else, don't look at me.
I *will* vote. But then, only after a final lynch victim is decided. |

Sounds like you're trying to divert the attention from yourself, Peregrin. Following your logic, however, I came to the conclusion that I should either vote you or wordcross, and since you look more scummy, I'll vote Peregrin. _________________ 1000oclock.com |

I feel behoven to the town to point out that Peregrin's behaviour is consistent with what I've seen of him in another game on the GL. There was rather a lot of discussion about his 'tactic' of not 'random voting' but 'random bandwaggoning' in that thread too.
I'm not saying whether he's guilty or innocent, just putting things into context in case the scum are using the tactic as a red herring. _________________

Guilty or not, if it were me, I'd take this reaction in both games and realize that my opinions on how to play the game are in a bit of a minority. Considering how long some of these players have been playing mafia games, the opposite's a rather weighted majority, too.
But then, fresh blood wouldn't be as much fun if they start behaving like old-pros _________________ Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like? |
