is the subscript bug actually still being investigated, or have we just decided that it's a quirk we'll have to live with for a while? it seems like if it were easy to fix/feasible, it would have been fixed already.

Well, the truth is I have no idea. I haven't really checked up on it in a while, but back then I was googling and asking and got no real reply from anyone. If anyone else with more knowledge has an idea why it happens, I'd be happy to hear it.

Is the search thing fixable, or has it been determined to be a lost cause?

It's fixable, but not by me now. If jeep or Hy want to take the glove, I'd be happy, otherwise it'll have to wait quite a while (October the earliest).

OK, where is the comment on the "search thing"?

I don't recall it, it's not in the OP and I'm not seeing it in the last couple pages... I'm probably just too tired.

Well there's the last two pages of this thread. http://www.greylabyrinth.com/discussion/viewtopic.php?t=1844

I don't know if those are the issue Courk is talking about. Are you talking about searching for these before the switch?

Here's the story behind me asking: Yesterday I was looking for a post I made a while back about my VCR remote. I know I'd made two posts about it -- one mentioning how it had been assumed lost but was really being used on a different VCR, and then another saying that there were actually two remotes and the one had been missing for 2 years, IIRC. I can find the first post, but not the second one. I'm not sure of the exact time frame, so I don't know if the second post was made before or after the switch. I've searched for VCR, remote, and VCR remote to no avail -- it only finds the first post and some other post where I mentioned VCR.

I'm going to go ahead and allow the image tag to allow defining only the width. It will help when we have to fit wide images. Instead of calculating the height and width, we can just enter "<img width=640>" and call it a tag. It will still support width + height.

Object with a good reason now, or piss off.

Actually, I feel vaguely dirty from my using French. Thank god it's just my fingertips and not my tongue that needs to be quarantined.

Update on my question (maybe this'll help solve the problem):

There are apparently 4 posts where I'm telling the story of my VCR remote (that's a sure sign I'm a boring person), plus the posts in this thread.

The search function will find this post if I search for VCR: http://www.greylabyrinth.com/discussion/viewtopic.php?p=93957#93957

The search function will not find this post, nor the two posts referenced in this post: http://www.greylabyrinth.com/discussion/viewtopic.php?p=356015#356015

As close as we ever were, which is to say, not at all. Personally I won't have any time for pet projects until October this year, so whatever time I have for technical GL stuff will be dedicated to small feature requests that've gone unanswered for a while (and there are several).

Hmmm, maybe there's some fancy thing I could put together to make it my master's thesis. This is a textbook example of "talking out my ass"
