| Heh - I made a set-up like that two years ago. "Canine capers" for 30 players. Never came around to roll it out, because I went off the taste of large games. |

They all sound good to me....especially the dating game.
Sounds like my habit will be well fed.
Been thinking about a Lord of the rings Mafia game, but I've never run a game before.
If any one is interested in helping me out contact me please. |

Does anyoen else see the goobledy gook, or is it just my computer?
As I can see the last few lines, however, I'd like to mention I'd be willing to help with LOTR mafia.

| It looks like a mess to me in your quote, but the original post starts with "They all sound good to me....especially the dating game." instead of the mess. |

I'd recommend against LOTR; that theme's been done plenty of times before.
Hobbit
LOTR I: The Epic Game (40 players)
LOTR II (game died)
Isengard Mafia
Obscure Role Mafia (lost in mafiascum crash)
Trouble at Minas Tirith
Fantasy Mafia (uses LOTR as 1 of 5 themes)
I ran Isengard; Macros ran the rest. |

Oh, wow. I knew there was one LOTR game, not 7. Yowza. Madmax, if you look at those games and figure out how to add a new twist to the idea, I still think it might be pretty good. As I wasn't in any of them, I can't provide any advice.
Lepton, I find it funny that, although "married," we're st ill aiming for first base.

I took the liberty of cleaning it up.
Courk, you might want to run some anti virus software or update your internet browser. |

Courk, the garbage text appears to have replaced the words "da.ting ga.me". That's the only part of Madmax's post that doesn't appear in your quote of it.
It sounds like you have spyware on your computer. I once noticed that spyware on my computer was checking webpages I was visiting for certain keywords; for example, it would check if the page contained the words "go.od j.ob". If it did, it would underline the words colorfully and make them link to a job search site (I've since gotten rid of it). Perhaps you have spyware that does something similar, and it saw the word "da.ting" and replaced that word and the next with ads for da.ting services?
It might also explain your Google problem you mentioned in another thread. I had (still have, actually; the method below didn't get rid of it, but it got rid of the other #$^% installed on my computer) spyware that makes Google go really slow (it eventually loads, but after a long delay). Perhaps you have spyware that stops Google from loading?
Here's how I got rid of it:
1. Download Spybot. Run it, fix selected problems, then if it doesn't get rid of everything, let it run again on startup.
2. If Spybot doesn't get rid of everything after that, the next step is to Ctrl-alt-del, make a list of all unfamiliar processes it shows, and then go into the Windows Find dialog and search for each of those processes. Usually you just need to type in the name of the process, but if it has a short name, such as "a", you may need to type in "a.exe" to make sure that you don't get worthless results. Of course, some unfamiliar processes may be legit, so you'll have to check it out, which is explained below.
3. Select the file (if there's more than one file, choose the executables) in the dialog to highlight it. Then go to File->"Open containing folder" and determine, from the folder's name and contents, and the process name, if the folder/executable is from spyware. (Is it from something you voluntarily installed, or not?)
4. If the file is spyware, then go back to the Ctrl-alt-del dialog and kill the process so that it'll delete properly. Then, if it's in a non-spyware folder, just delete the spyware. If it's in a spyware folder, keep clicking "Up" until you're not in a spyware folder, then delete the folder.
5. Check the legit folders that contained the non-legit folders and spyware; more likely than not, these will contain other unwanted stuff. Look for those files and folders that have as their "Created" date (in "Properties") the same date as the deleted files had. If one looks suspicious, delete it.
Hope it goes well, and hope I haven't missed any steps. (I'm pretty sure I haven't missed steps, though.) |

We've done two Star Wars mafia's already. You might want to look at those as part of your R&D...
When new games start to get infrequent, I may run a "Don't be stupid" mafia like Rite ran on scum. A game full of modkills for inactivity and stupidity. |

Not that I would ever run a mafia game, I have thought of themes and characters I would like to have in one if I ever did One I've never seen is a Super Heroes / Super Villains mafia. Or a Marvel Comics / DC Comics mafia. Lots of potential on special abilities.

| After vanilla mafia, I'll take the Don't be stupid idea and make it into "The weakest link mafia". In addition to a normal lynch, the player who contributed the least suring a round will be killed. |

Game: Not-Too-Useful Role Mafia
Players: 12?
Moderator: ralphmerridew
Status: Scattered ideas
Starting: Not anytime soon
The roles that weren't appreciated in their original games, and maybe a few original roles, have founded their own town, which is under attack by the mafia. They'd be in grave danger, if not for the fact that the mafia is similarly handicapped. |

Galactic War Mafia
Moderated by me
Players: ~12-16
Status: Game formula almost complete. Story complete. Signup will be up after I figure out a few minor problems that might occur in gameplay.
Starting: Before Christmas, hopefully.
Brief Intro: A spaceship has crashed on a distant planet. The only way home is a tiny escape pod that can't fit very many people.
Game will be based more on factions than town v. mafia. That's about all I can disclose to the public. Everything else is top secret _________________ Forever is such an unpleasant word |
