Once again, the town contains 12 people.

3 of them are mafia.
8 of them are cops (2 of whom are always correct, 2 of whom are always incorrect, 2 of whom always get innocent, 2 of whom always get guilty)
1 of them is a retired cop (who gets the same kind of results as the cop killed night 1)

- Players may not investigate themselves
- Players must lynch every day
-- If the town is unable to reach a majority at deadline, the person with the most votes is lynched
-- If there is a tie for most votes at the end of the day, whoever reached the current total first is lynched.
-- If there is nobody with votes at the end of the day, then the mafia get to pick who is lynched
- If I do not get a choice at night, I will replace that person before dawn.
- People who did not play in at least on day of game 1 get preferential placement over those who did.

Players
1) Courk
3) Quailman
4) Logain
5) jadesmar
9) Vegtable 2001
10) Porro

Motion Disabled:
8) zorT kitty - cop (stabbed night 1)
2) Legend of Tenshi - mafia (lynched day 1)
11) Dragon Phoenix - cop (stabbed night 2)
12) Leonidas / sweetwater - mafia (lynched day 2)
7) Quagmire - cop (pilloried night 3)
6) MadMax - mafia (lynched day 3)

Game over, town wins.

Since there seems to be some confusion about the preferential placement rule:

If your name is referee, MadMax, Fuldu, Leonidas, DP, zortKitty, Vegtable 2001, Quagmire, Mackay, Porro, sweetwater, Sami, or Werebear, you got to play in the previous game. I'd like to give the rest of the GL a chance.

If your name is jadesmar, you were killed off night 1, so feel free to sign up.

Anybody else, again, feel free to join.

The sun rose slowly over the mountain tops, lighting the sky with a crimson fire. The dew-covered grass glittered like diamonds upon the ground, and the birds sang merrily. But something was missing... or rather someone. But who? After a quick glance around the deceptively peaceful town square, the town realised that zorT Kitty was nowhere to be found.

Within minutes, a search party was formed. zorT Kitty's house, the first place searched, was found empty except for a small cat, impatiently meowing beside the food dish... also empty. No sign of zorT.

Within an hour, however, the wondering was put to a stop. Amid the glistening metal bars of the school playground, her body was found. Two sets of footprints lead up to the see-saw. One was unidentifiable, but the other clearly belonged to zorT... she lay face down in the woodchips with her foot caught over the teeter totter's seat and a bloody dagger protruding from between her ribs. Upon close examination of the body, a police badge was found in her coat pocket. The town let out a groan, and trudged dejectedly off to breakfast. This murder was clearly not something to be solved on an empty stomach.

ZorT Kitty, cop, dead. And if somebody doesn't feed that cat, zorT won't be the only dead kitty in these parts.

I think it would be a good idea if everyone voiced their night choices and results.

I'm also wondering if everyone invesigating the same person tomorrow night would have enough advantages to attempt it.

I was talking to rm. It turns out that by the end of the first day the mafia had the naive cop, and the retired cop who replaced a naive cop pegged. They had a list of 3 people, two of which had to be sane cops. They had a good idea of who would be insane. In reality we have 4, maybe 5 useful cops if we get lucky. By the end of the first day of claims the mafia will have a very good idea of who to target. 3 more nights and the town might be completly blind. Vote don't come out, wait till cops get a guilty and an innocent and have them come out then

For stating the obvious.

I'll be checking the thread regularly until next Saturday (17 April), then I'm off-line for a week. It may be wise to get someone to stand in for me that week.

Veg is stating the obvious, but was asked by courk.
I too agree with the obvious, don't state your investigations
except for the one being lynched ( after the final vote is placed ).

Once the deciding vote is cast, the game enters twilight, and players may no longer post game-relevant information, except that they may post their lynch scene, and in so doing, reveal their role (cop / retired cop / mafia). Posting investigation results at that stage is forbidden.

Well, it looks like we have to lynch someone today. I say we don't do random bandwagons, just wait until some strange logic comes up, and then hit it.

Here's some strange logic: vote: Quagmire Let's see if that holds water.

As for revealing investigations, it should have been obvious to Courk that it is a bad idea, but then to follow it up with suggesting that we might want to even consider investigating the same people tonight is too much.

unvote: Quagmire; vote: Courk

Interesting, I see the game is already afoot and ZorT Kitty is dead.

Now, from what I understand, ZorT Kitty is relatively new to this game. Hence, whoever killed ZorT Kitty may also be new to this game.
FOS: Legend of Tenshi

Of course, a newbie may be also want to get rid of the older, more experienced players by killing off, say, umm.. Quailman
FOS: Quailman since Quailman is still alive.
or
FOS: Logain since Logain is still alive.

Oh, but other experienced players would also be more likely to choose a first night kill randomly. Hmm.. randomly, good plan
FOS: Vegtable 2001 randomly

Or perhaps, a member of the mafia is trying to throw us off the track of their random selections by emphasizing that the town should not choose randomly.
FOS: Quagmire for emphasizing that the town should not act randomly.

Let's see now, ah yes, ZorT Kitty, ZorT Kitty sounds like a female name, perhaps the scummy mafiosa is looking to bump off all of the females not in their own group.
FOS: Courk,
FOS: MadMax
and any other females.

Now, judging by her profile, ZorT Kitty was an American, anti-American thought is prevalent in, let's say.. not America.
FOS: Dragon Phoenix
FOS: Leonidas
FOS: Porro

And finally,
FOS: jadesmar for the largest display of crap logic I have ever seen.

Now that I think about it, claiming now wouldn't help. I'm used to these games with ~5 people. If you know the roles, your own allaince, and others results there, you can usually figure out mafia.

Sorry for posting that at 11. And this well past midnight. I'll hopefully post tomorrow with coherent ideas.

Other than me, I don't know anyone who seems more suspicious than anyone else.

I don't know how well no random voting will do. It seems idealogical and will make day 1 last for a while if it works. But I still say give it a shot. At worst, we random vote after a month.

Post 28 by the Mod corrected me on that point.
I thought that til the lynch scene was posted we could still post.
My suggestion is (in that case) we all wait for 12 hrs. before making the final lynch vote to give the player a chance to state his/her investigation result(s).
