GME Game 1, Status: Game Over, SK AMB wins

SK amb wins, a first in (online) mafia history.

The Place: Podunk. Thats it. Just Podunk, it's on an island, isolated from everybody save for the once a month ferry from the Irish. Ideal place for the mafia to want. Who knows why, but they do, trust me. As usual, they'll go to any lengths to get what they want. As usual the town doesn't want this. However, there is a general feeling that some things will be different this time. What could they be?

You got lucky PuzzleProdigy (and SaberKitty, if you got a snow day, too). My school district was one of the only ones in the whole STATE to be open. As if that wasn't bad enough, when I got to school, I found that less than half of the students had showed up. Now because of some stupid law that says a school must have a certain percentage of the student population show up in order to count the day, we had to waste a snow day, and I couldn't even sleep in. >:^( We just hung out and did nothing in all my classes, which was good, but otherwise the day stunk. Oh well, at least they shortened the day.

The town wakes up to what it believes will be another normal day, but deep inside each person, something makes them think that it is not so.

It's confirmed when somebody trips over xer0x's body in the street. He died of a single gunshot wound to the back of the head. It's gruesome to see, with blood pooling and congealing in the gutter. In his pocket you find a deck of cards and a few aces up his sleeve. An innocent victim.

Meanwhile you find Hitchhiker visibly shaken up. She was attacked late in the night, but a shadowy figure with a gun. As the trigger was pulled, somebody tackled her, and in the process took the bullet. The attacker fled, as did the mysterious hero. You follow the blood trail expecting a body, but find none.

Dr. Gaspode admits to having saved the person who saved Hitchhiker. Before he could go on any further, a knife flashes through everybody's vision and into his throat. Choking on his own blood, he dies.

In a panic, some members of the town try to run, and one ends up facing PuzzleProdigy. He has been decapited and his head put on a pike on a street corner. A brave soul checks his house and finds the body, and confirms PP was a townie who was known to be quite vengeful.

Now with their world shattered, the town rushes to the home of a priest, Porro. However, he doesn't answer the door, or the phone. The townspeople rush in, and don't find him. Entering the kitchen, they find a message written in blood. "Look up!" it says. You look up and find the gentle Priest nailed to the ceiling, obviously by a nail gun. To his forehead is nailed a plank of wood with the letters "Pains of Sorrow; The death of Porro; die scum; die scum" painted crudely in Porro's own blood."

After a horrible morning, the town gathers to decide what must be done. Logically, they decide justice must prevail and they shall pick a person and lynch them.

Priest Porro, Dr. Gaspode, Poker Player xer0x, and Vengeful townie PuzzleProdigy were killed. It is day. Vote.

Decapitated head is the SK probably, two bullets is two mafia family, but the fourth murder (knife) baffles me.
Neo, did the knife murder take place during the day, or am I reading the scene wrong?
And, looks like we already have a confirmed innocent. Neo, is this a mod mistake or was it intentional?

If there's two mafia families, a knife killer, an SK (Serial Killer, not SaberKitty) who cuts off people's heads, and someone else (I'm thinking either an SK or a schizo) who nailed Porro the Priest with a nail gun, then yeah, being attacked doesn't automatically make someone an innocent. I could just as easily be a baddie who was shot at by another baddie, and rescued by a good guy (who's still alive out there somewhere, that is, assuming it wasn't Porro). Still, I'm no more or less likely to be a baddie than anyone else, Saber, so why not just call it a random vote?

I'm guessing there's no such thing as an ordinary townie in this game, since xer0x and PuzzleProdigy both had definite roles. Though I'm not sure what special abilities a Poker Player would have, if any.

Saberkitty, that logic is less than shaky. I could also assume, "hey, this is an experiment, maybe the town wins if it loses! Let's all commit suicide and win". It's preposterous.

While I agree that the games rules are going to be different in ways we wont expect, we cannot lynch someone for a reason as counter productive as that. It wont help us at all. Lets let time (or perhaps the mod) prove any roles like that. We can always lynch later if needed....

SK, you sound like you have something to hide. What makes you so sure that Hitchhiker is scum? Do you have information on him? It sounds like an unfounded accusation to me. Unless you are maf and targeted Hitchhiker at night, causing her to appear innocent, and now want to finish the kill. (Antrax, go ahead and call this steaming doo-doo or something. )

Hitchhiker's name being brought up only means that she is not part of one of the maf groups. The fact that Neo revealed that she was a target may not mean anything at all, though it is not common practice. I think this is a red herring.
