UPDATE: Green Crayons (Anthrax, mafia) has been lynched. Tanstaafl (The Cure, doctor) and Logain (10000 Maniacs, serial killer) have been murdered
=============================================================================
Welcome to Music world, where everybody happily enjoys their own choice of music or tolerates what the neighbour is playing. If only things could remain this way... unfortunately, all of the groups have decided to start to live up to their name, and in some cases that will have very nasty results....
Normal mafia rules apply (you should know them), most importantly:
* lynches by regular majority or minimum 50% of that in case of deadline (in case of a tie, first come first served)
* no posting at night
* no posting when you are dead
* no editing of posts
* if you make no choice in time: first round random, other rounds forfeit.

As morning breaks, one of you is missing, You know him as Quercitron, but his actual name was a mystery to you. Searching his house, you find his strangled body and a number of gold records on the name of Barenaked Ladies. His notes show that he was a good guy.
BARENAKED LADIES
You are town, but you can distract a player at night from what they are supposed to do (kill, heal, investigate etc), simply by showing up in their house. Mail me your choice if you want to do so.
Nineteen left, ten to lynch.

I have always thought that Barenaked Ladies was an annoying name. You think you are getting one thing, then you get another. Truly disappointing.
Since I am posting, I may as well vote: Mike Amok
Random, I assure you... |

As usual. nobody notices the important things, like numbers..
20 people and only one kill?
with virtually evreybody having a role of sorts?
I would expect at least three killing groups in this set up, and we've got only one victim..Rejoice!!
Not to mention the fact that IS is still alive and not even voted for.
Maybe we have a few very succesful docs here.

There are other possibilities too: players who can "distract" other players at night, players who can only be killed on alternate nights, players who can self-protect or "hide out" in other players' houses, etc.
Obligatory random vote: Trevize |

jesternl is right - I'm sure we were saved at least one kill. And at the moment, I'm off random votes first day. They never seem to bring me luck... but I'm letting you know I'm here, reading. Watching. Avoiding work.

Meh. Since I am one vote from lynching, and with no particular reasoning for my death that I could argue against...
I am TLC, and I can choose one person to protect from harm.
Is this what we mean by "getting people talking?" |

This round is not sparkling with conversation so far. Let's see whwther I can get you posting a bit more:
Deadline for this day will be Sunday 2PM GL time. If circumstances warrant it, I will extend the deadline. |

I'd unvote the self-proclaimed doc, if I'd voted him in the first place. Unless someone has better evidence... in which case I will happily vote him. Did this game just hit a brick wall? Should I vote Mike_Amok and lynch him just for laughs, and so the mafia (and any other killing roles) can have another stab at us? Does anyone else care |

Sounds like a reasonable role claim to me. It seems as though a "role" in this game is an entire band rather than an individual artist. I wonder what band would be responsible for strangling?

That sounds pretty reasonableindeed.
And HitchHiker, that band wold be, of course The Stranglers, and since DP is well versed in older bands who are now dusty and forgotten I'm reasonably sure he picked that...
Try googling for The stranglers and their best known song "Golden brown"
Oh and this does NOT mean I am the stranglers, I'm just showing off knowledge

| Sorry, I worded that poorly. I'm not a Doc. When I say I can choose one person to protect, I meant once for the entire game. As far as why, I assume because of the name, i.e. TLC = Tender Loving Care. |

Yes, I've made it, hello and good evening to you all.
Vote: Jesternl because he drew attention to the fact that there was only one kill. He is trying to separate himself from the killings by taking this objective viewpoint. This will make him in the right (i.e. trustworthy) if it turns out there are two groups and just overly cautious if it turns out there is one. Win-win. His short unrelated sentences give him away as trying to say somethign without saying anything at all. His referance to "a few very sucessful docs here" makes me nervous and edgy. I don't think that there'd be much more than one (one and a half if Mike_Amok tells the truth) docs in this game. There's no such thing as "a few docs" in a game this small. Your expectations of three kills also makes me nervous, I would not at all expect "at least three killing groups" in a game this size. Two maximum (maybe a third "hunter" with one kill per game, but they wouldn't necessarily use their ability the first night). Stop trying to rejoice with me. [/conspiracy theory] |
