The Elven Settlement of Ilellimelliflaene is peaceful. It's inhabitants are peaceful elves who dance in the moonlight and sing with music so beautiful that men who pass near often weep with joy. It is the quintessence of perfection and beauty.

Or it was.

A dark evil has descended upon this small, close-knit commune. Five of it's members have fallen into the ways of the Maleferino Mafia. It is up to the Ilellimelliflaenians to find them before it is too late.

A council is convened. The three elders are called upon to aid the elves in finding the traitors, and save the small settlement from corruption and evil. The elders concur, and agree to use their talents to scry the inhabitants and heal the wounded. The elves all look around nervously. The sun is setting, and the dark will soon mask the world. A storm is brewing, cloaking the world which has not even the starlight to see by. Survival is paramount, and on everyone's mind...

For this game:
There are 5 elf Maleferino mafia
There are 9 elf Ilellimelliflaenian townies
There are 3 elf Ilellimelliflaenian elders.

Each night, the Elders can each either choose to scry another elf to find his/her role, or protect another elf from death if the Mafia choose to attack that elf. An elder cannot protect his/her self.

Be on the watch for magic scrolls. They may prove invaluable.

The sun has set. Mafia: please nominate one person to send in choices for a kill each night. You can discuss it among yourselves as you like, but i'd prefer not to get 5 e-mails telling me the choice, especially if there's a disagreement.

Elders: Please send your choice of either scrying (investigating) or protecting.

If you did not recieve an e-mail, you are an elf townie. Please confirm your roles.

Beware the morn, It may bring death to one of you.

Agree with Cheshire Man. I thought I wasn't included in the game. I had to go back and re-read the first post about the townies not getting an email. When I did read that I wasn't going to get an email, I confirmed anyway, but my early suspicions are against the first people to confirm. They are most likely people with roles. Maybe this is crap logic and will probably catch a lot of heat. Heck, I am not even sure if the game has started yet but I will FOS the first four people to confirm -- degenerate, jadesmar, orbiting and ameb.

The day dawns bright, a welcome change from the inky blackness of a cloudy night. The ilillimelliflanians gather in the council hall to check on what may have happened during the night. Already they can see that one of their number is missing. Looking outside, it is rather obvious where they might find the deceased. A shadow lingers prevasively upon one of the dwellings, casting a pall upon the otherwise bright town. As the elves move quickly toward the home cast in grey, they all feel the malevolent aura about it. The door is ajar, and so it is easy to see within the small domicile.

Elf Townie The Cheshire Man still sits in his posture of reverie, but with a macabre smile carved into his neck. The Maleferino have struck, and the town has one less citizen.

It is DAY!. You must now vote to lynch someone. Lynching will occur as soon as someone has a majority of votes (9 to lynch). Please post your votes in BOLD.

Well, I'm not about to continue that trend, considering who was third to confirm. I'll wait until people have spoken a bit more in the thread before casting a vote. I'd like to see what Degenerate, as well as jadesmar and really everyone else, has to say. Not only the mafia got roles by e-mail, too, so either of them might be an elf elder, or they might just have been checking the forum (as I was).
I wonder more about the people who didn't confirm in this thread. Is it because they already confirmed by e-mail when they got their roles?

No, more observant is not more suspicious, however:
1) it was only 6 hours
2) Originally, the list of players was not there, so if you were a townie, you had to check the sign-up thread (which was one player short in the first post) and read down to the end to find the last player.
3) e-mails get lost/addresses get mis-typed/etc, so if you are like me, you would have wondered if the mod had your e-mail correct, or did he mis-type it, or did it get lost in the ether?

I merely stated that I was suspicious of those that confirmed first. It doesn't mean I am ready to vote for them. While it may be likely that they have roles, it is just as likely that they were, as Jadesmar said, merely more observant. It is also nearly as likely if they do have a role, it is that of elder rather than mafia.

If you look at the time between his post, and my confirmation post (of nothing because I didn't get anything from him), you can see that there is more than a 5 hour gap between them. It's not like I immediately replied or something. And you posted about an hour after me.

I'm suspicious of four people, because they haven't posted at all in this thread (not to confirm, although wordcross must have had confirmation from everyone, if he started the game, and not to vote or show suspicion): mole, ralphmerridew, PuzzleProdigy, and groza. I'm sure at least one of them has been here at least once since this game started. Do they not have anything to contribute yet, have they not noticed that the game has started, or are they trying to stay out of view so we don't vote for them?
