I have started this thread because the last one broke down, and I don't know when Hy will get around to fixing it. For now it is locked, so the game is at a standstill. Personnally I think that having the game come to a halt when there wasn't much posting in the first place is a bad idea, it might stop altogether. So I have started this thread to allow the game to proceed.

If you feel its a better idea to wait for Hy to fix the thread, that's fine too, I'm leaving it up to the players to decide whether or not to wait or continue (or go back to the old thread if it gets fixed, maybe it will only be necessary to finish this day in this thread).

Mike Amok, you may indeed have a reason for trying to stop the lynching of someone who claims to be Snowball, but if you aren't going to give more of a reason other than "I believe him" then few will follow. Do we have any reason to believe you any more than anyone else?

If you are a cop, then you are making a big mistake in painting a target on yourself by trying to save one innocent right now. Trying to stop a bandwagon subtly is great, but being so obvious? So I hope that you aren't a cop and that you are "Santa's Little Helper" or "Snowball II" or even "Laddie", "Moho", or "Pinchy" (I know there are other Simpson's pets, but I'm not going to look them up now.

Again, did you stop to think why I would defend him? What motive would anyone have to defend Corsato if that person didn't know he was innocent? Even if there was more than one mafia or alien left (which there probably isn't, as quercitron pointed out), it would be very stupid for one to defend the other so openly and solitarily when they're on the verge of being lynched.

On the other hand, if I'm mafia trying to make myself look innocent by defending an innocent about to be lynched, then I must at least have reason to believe Corsato is innocent. Either way, Corsato is innocent.

You are either evil, or you are just not thinking.

Incidentally, I did try being subtle, but nobody innocent was paying enough attention.

Vote: Werebear, though I don't have a particular reason to think he's not just an idiot. But perhaps the quiet people just need an alternative bandwagon.
Also, slight FOS to Logain, though perhaps I'm just being cynical.

I have nothing against Corsato, Mike. I really don't. I just think the role he claimed is very implausable! If the cat were in, the dog would be in, and noone has claimed Santa's Little Helper to prevent a lynch. The claim of 'eventual' powers sounds even worse. he's claiming that 1) The Simpson's cat has some powers, 2) He doesn't know what he's going to be able to do, 3)He doesn't know when he's going to be able to do it. Am I the only one who thinks that's fishy? I feel like I'm a kazoo player in the London Philharmonic.

Also, you're assuming there's one mafia left. How does the town know? If there were one big mafia, not mafia and aliens and a SK, I'd say this game was at its limit... but the killers are busy killing themselves, happily. As a good mod would assume, and factor into the numbers. Heck, the killers have killed as many killers as the town!

OK, now to Mike. Here's MY list of possibilites.
1) He's an investigator, normal or paranoid or naive. I don't know the cops in the Simpsons.
2) He's a mafia protecting his own. Corsato was one vote away from being lynched. If they're the last two, he has a high interest in keeping him alive while trying to look innocent, which is what he's doing.
3) He's a mafia protecting an innocent. Could happen, but not likely.

This post took 4 hours to type, I kept having to run hither and yon with the kids... but here it is, think about it.

I will reveal my role happily, as I feel my role was doomed from the beginning. I am Groundskeeper Willy. I even have a useless ability, I'm able to identify certain members of the town as being town members. Each night I send in a name, and I'm merely told "town" or "You can't tell". Apparently this ability is supposed to help me prevent certain people from being lynched, such as Bart (ha) and Lisa (double ha). So far, it's been a complete dud. Who exactly I'm allowed to find, I'm not sure, as I haven't found anyone yet. Every choice has been "You can't tell". I really don't relish being a lynched townie, but if you're going to pick a townie to lynch, better me than one of the police.

Quite frankly, no. I can't. My guess was that my role was designed to protect certain townies, i.e. - I find out Lisa Simpson is a townie, and try and divert bandwagons. Apparently having Bart and Lisa killed off early didn't factor into this role. There may be others I can find, but I have yet to find them. I'm going to try and find the dog this night. *grin*

Night 1Before the game started, I sent in mith's name. Because he was a high profile mafia-dude-type. Of course, he got killed TWICE as I investigated him. MITH - if I'm ever in another mafia with you, I'll only send your name in if I'm a doc, I swear. It's a wonder you get to play at all.
Night 2I sent in Antrax's name, because he's a controversial figure in the two main mafias I was on... at least, he gets picked on a lot and accused.
Night 3I changed tactics, and sent in Pikachamp's name, because he was silent, since I was having no luck with the talkers.
Night 4I goofed, I meant to send in Corsato's name, but the whole family except for me was sick, and I never sent it in. It was one of those "Yeah, I'll get to it before the deadline" things I'm so famous for in Acrophilia. Happily, having passed it on to me, the rest of the family is fine now, while I am practically bedridden as of last night. As a matter of fact, it's nap time. I feel like I've been run over by a truck. I'll try and read again tonight, but don't be surprised if I'm not on until tomorrow during the day if I'm better, or tomorrow night if I'm not.
