jj. You can find them on the pirate bay. Best new indie stuff I've heard in a while. I expect them to make a run for best album of 2009 (maybe second to Animal Collective).

Hurt - Johnny Cash cover.

One of my favorites when Reznor wrote it. Cash did a masterful job with it.

This. "Flight of the Butterfly", with a (fairly crass, to be frank) techno background and a goth music video. I'm a sucker for piano chicks.

Allison Iraheta. The best is "Friday I'll Be Over You", followed by "D Is For Dangerous". The rest of the songs don't matter.

While I am a member of the "Anti Antrax Club"* I found that video anti positively non motivational in re the pro aspect of the anti movement. It just seemed derivative and spawned of old ideas founded in, well I'll say it: Bad Music. It's been that way for years, people using the drug of bad music to bring in the masses as a common club against innocents. It was horrible. You should be ashamed of yourself.

For the unfamiliar: they do the music for a lot of Rachel Brice's solo performances. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqJsaqykhLo

It saddens me, that so many people fail to realize how unrelated spirituality and religion are. I really enjoy Schubert's Ellens Dritter Gesang, despite being antitheistic.

Anyway, I've been listening to Puccini's Tosca and some Django Reinhardt. Very, very different music.

I am curently re-discovering Jimmy Eat World - there really is something behind the pop sound. Some of my new favorites are "Get it Faster" and "If You Don't, Don't" from "Jimmy Eat World" - formerly "Bleed American" (changed after 9/11)

I am currently checking out some of their other albums - earlier one ("Clarity") didn't do anything for me, so I'm going later - "Chase This Light" seems to have potential - I think "Futures" is next.....

Be warned, the video/song is probably not kosher for work, but nothing worse than your average "sexy" music video.

I'm listening to a new radio station (98.7 FM in Jacksonville, NC). They call themselves a "Modern Rock" station, but it's "Modern" in the sense that it's not "Classic" rock. This means that it's mostly 90's and 00's rock with a bit of late 80's thrown in. Since that's the bulk of the music that I usually listen to, the playlist that I finally took the time to put together is now redundant.

(Currently listening to Sneaker Pimps - Six Underground)
