The flower looks like a violet to me, although it could be an iris.

So that's what it is!!! I kept thinking it was an x-ray negative (fancy colored one too) of something.

There's Augustus (maybe) and mini-Augustus and a blue-ribbon bucket? I have no idea what 3 is either. And - to state the obvious - there are arrows up and down thrown in too.

Ahhh, I remember when my bucket won first place (amateur, under-18, 5-gallon class of course).

Hey, Zut! I was told you were making appearance here! Good to see you. I was thinking the flower was an orchid. But then again, before it was confirmed to be a flower, I was convinced it was a monkey head. So what do I know.

Rollercoaster! You've been pretty rare around these parts lately.

Up Augustus - orchid - down salt - TV - prize bucket
Up Augustus - violet - down salt - TV - prize bucket
Up Augustus - iris - down salt - TV - prize bucket

...?

I couldn't tell what the flower was either - although monkey head did not occur to me as a possibility. Methinks I need to have my eyes checked.

Correct! (Although I was thinking of the Willy Wonka movie version.)

The diagram represents:

Augustus (Gloop) -- Up (the chocolate tube)
Violet (Beauregard) -- Swelled (by magic gum)
(Veruca) Salt -- Down (the goose hatch)
(Mike) Tevee -- Shrunk (by TV ray)
(Charlie) Bucket -- The winner!

Hmm. Trying to think of good clues that won't give it away. The first clue is that this sequnce could continue downward indefinitely, although it would become purely academic after a few more rows. (I added another row to the image). The second clue is that theses boxes are non-unique. I could have drawn some of them quite differently. Hope those are good hints.

Hint for MTC #1
Someone mentioned that if you put the first on top of the second, you get the third. That's not really true. It's the squares match in the first and second, it's white in the third. Otherwise it is black. This doesn't really help much however this hint will. The two diagrams that invloved moving images (you'll have to search for the second one) led to two different things from two different genres. This diagram is a combination of those two genres. For example, if the moving puzzles were 2 & G3, then the topic of this puzzle would be a car movie. It's not, but you get the idea.

That last one was lame! The JA diagram did not "represent" something. It was the something. Another hint for MTC #1

The two moving diagrams represented a board game and a video game. Somehow, this is a combination of the two types of games.

reminds me of Lights Out. in fact, if the black squares are on and the white squares are off, the first one is the first level of the normal mode, IIRC. i don't feel like finding batteries for mine to check that, though.

So were the Zork maps! Point being? Consider that the "originating" source for the diagrams were text-only (you'd have to have read the book to know)... they're representational, particularly since the "houses" and roads are a comparably original design.

I'm well aware that the majority of my "puzzles" are mediocre, but just reflexively defending myself.

*puts up dukes*

Incidentally, this one went unsolved, as far as I've noticed:

As I'm too annoyed with the process I went through to make it, I don't want to continue the sequence, even as a hint... so the solution is

...keep looking!

...

...the heights and weights of the first thirty Pokémon.

...

...howdy.

makemeok is on the right track for MTC #1 The game is correct however these three patterns are supposed to represent something. The patterns shown are something special to the game. (bonus hint: play the game but press the "black" buttons and see what happens. Try it with all three patterns)

Are you talking about Pokemon or Lights-Out? The lights out puzzle has still not been solved. There is something very special about those 3 patterns that none of the other millions of patterns have. what is it?

yeah, i can't think of a good way to put this... they leave the "board" the way it was when you started. basically, each one cancels itself out, but without using the same squares more than once. and they're the only patterns possible that would do that, huh? cool.
i would've answered sooner, but i kept doing the third one the wrong way, haw.

Im tempted to say all of these characters have starred in SEGA games, but I've never seen a giraffe.

That other one is either a rat or mouse from the picture, probably a rat.

I think the lack of association of context implies that it is the animals themselves that make up the series.

On the other hand, it could be a series of contexts - eg films, games, soft toys - not sure about that, but possible.

Oh, Robichelli, you got the R the wrong way round Ecstatic Happiness
