It's a digital 24 hour clock that's running backwards.

I beg to differ, mole. The clock you propose would, in fact, show the correct time four times a day. The answer is, of course, that this is an el-cheapo alarm clock that's reset to the corresct time by its owner before he goes to bed and after he wakes up. I know this because I used to have one.

I say it means that it's time to get a new clock. Or wind the one you have. Or replace the batteries.

It's a digital clock that you're actually seeing the reflection from a mirror. So the only 2 times a day it's showing the correct time would be 11:11 am and 11:11 pm

Wouldn't 12:51 show as 12:51 in the mirror too?
Your clock's probably just a normal one with hands that has stopped.

What does it mean if a clock shows the correct time only 60 times a day?

The person has gone insane trying to set the clock on his VCR, which is constantly blinking "12:00" thirty times per minute, 60 minutes an hour, and 24/7 since the dawn of man.

ZutAlors!, I think mole is right because he specified that it was a 24 hour clock. If we picture it as an analog clock with only an hour hand, as well as an hour hand going in the correct direction, these two hands would line up twice in 24 hours.

Marvin - This is one of those fancy new digital clocks where it isn't limited to the typical 8 position LED's to display each character, so it can show clearly the difference between a 2 and a 5

Ah, yes, I withdraw my objection to mole's solution. Although I can't help thinking that there's some easier solution to this problem... Hmph. Probably not.

The last one I had of that sort got hurled across the room when I woke up late for a Bridge tournament. It was a mechanical clock and apart from the chore of having to sweep up the glass, the general collection of springs and cogs embedded in the plaster was extremely satisfying.

Wouldn't a stopped analog watch show the correct time twice a day?
