Ok, not exactly fractals, but these are some amazing creations, especially when you consider it is just someone walking to make them. I wish the article talked more about the process.

Pretty incredible. I can certainly think of a number of ways to do it. Without preparation before the snow falls, it's pretty tricky, but you could do it. But if you plan in advance, by placing stakes and tying strings, it's not that hard. I mean, it's still a pretty amazing to have done all the work, and it's an impressive artistic accomplishment, but it isn't magic.

The border of the snowflake is a depiction of the classic Koch curve ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koch_snowflake ) ... yes, a fractal.
