A Grey Labyrinth Collaborative Meta-Puzzle?

We're working on making a GL Collaborative Meta-Puzzle

Here's how it will work:
- Seven people have volunteered in this thread to become a puzzle setter.
- I've randomly assign them a word via PM
- They will write a puzzle where the solution is that word, and PM it to me
- I will post the puzzles in this thread (with full credit to each author, of course), and the GL works on solving them,
- The GL can then solve the meta-puzzle derived from the individual solutions

Before you start a puzzle, you should probably also PM me with your basic idea. Hopefully, we can get a variety of types. El and novice will have to fight it out for cryptics.

Are you planning on us test-solving and tweaking/making suggestions before posting? I can't speak for everyone but I know that would help anything I construct.

Yeah, we should probably have a period of time for that. I figured I'd function as the test solver, that way each puzzle setter could actively work on each of the puzzles that was not their own. I'm not sure if that's realistic.

The other option is to have all of the volunteers test solve and give feedback on each puzzle privately, so that we can make sure it's solid before we put it out there for the rest of the world.

I guess my only concern with that method is whether we have enough folks who would be interested in the final puzzle if we use all of the main VSPers as setters and test-solvers.

I've sent PMs with the assigned solutions to the six volunteers. Still looking for #7.

Please PM me before you get too far into the design phase with a basic idea. I'll let you know if you are thinking of anything too close to what someone else is doing. First come, first served...

I'd like to try functioning as the test solver, so that the volunteers can still function as solvers on all of the puzzles except their own. We'll see how that works out.

I'm probably pretty bad with creating puzzles...but, if you need a final person I'll have a go. But feel free to replace me with someone more experienced if the opportunity arises.

Some volunteers have mentioned doing a few mini-puzzles to arrive at their assigned solution, so there may be room for collaboration.

I've got one completed puzzle, and a few others I've seen that are in the works.

The completed puzzle (by novice) is excellent IMHO, I think you'll all enjoy it.

The original idea, that was causing difficulty, was abandoned. If he needs help with this new idea, I'll be happy to pitch in.

Our self-imposed deadline passed this weekend. We've got a few puzzle ready to go, and a few that aren't finished yet. Can the volunteers update me on their progress?

I've been in hospital all this week so I've not been able to finish my puzzle. However, I've worked out the concept, and I've got a free day tomorrow so hopefully I should finish it very shortly.

Working on the final step and writing some code to check that my solution is unique. I should finish it tomorrow.
Meant to work on this over the week-end, but St. Patrick's Day kinda took precedence.
