OK. I guess I could have given you INTERCHANGEABLE, rather than REPLACEABLE, but I think that takes all the fun out of it. Razz

For the ease of having the current one on this page:
Entertaining organs get lifted provided that changes to leftovers are made by me. (8)
Replaceable leader generation gets strengthened? That is total nonsense! (7)

I'm picturing zag wanting to finish solving the puzzle before posting, but worried that someone else would finish while he was still working on it, then computing a statistical analysis to determine the optimum moment for when to go ahead and post a partial answer, while maximizing the expected value return function.

Fun giblets ... not yet ... are raised ... almost ... if I ed ... NOW!

LOL. Close.

In fact, once I got fungible, the rest came pretty quickly up until ed. As soon as I was stuck for more than 30 seconds or so, I posted, and that was the first one.

Now you see why I was trying to disguise FUNGIBLE. It essentially gave away GIBLETS.

Neither fungible nor giblets were in my vocabulary until now, so I certainly would have struggled with this one. Revenge most foul! But yeah, in general I suck both at making and solving these. And that probably comes down to vocabulary in both instances, now that I think about it.

I tried for a little resonance in this one. OK, it just worked out that way, but I like it.

Oyster hunters, I merely comforted a group whining over a fight. A story: adventurer staying at my house feels sick. (15)

Alkaline used for distraction: A calm, dignified vial in grand, though deadly, story. An adventurer dead. (13)

Good so far. The next word (starting with 'pic') is an unusual one. You might have better luck working on the other sentence (actually just a phrase). Checking your word counts might help.

Hi, Dej Mar.

It was an excellent signmaker, very literate and well-constructed. If anything it was almost *too* well-constructed, since both versions flowed using close synonyms of the given text. Signmakers that are harder to solve tend to result from synonyms that have to be crow-barred into place!

That's not a criticism, just an observation. Felicitous

How about an in-sentence signmaker? Here's a weak one for now, but we can probably come up with better:
