Anagramming the page title might get you started.
The numbers you posted are not the right path to the solution. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

Nice work. Any suggestions for how to clue 24 without giving it away?

Typo in "easter egg" comment on 20.
Also, I'm missing something: Book 'em, Danno is a catchphrase from Hawaii Five-O. The "book" is probably a reference to the fact the number on the sign is the ISBN for a self-help book called "first things first". However, none of the authors' names work, nor is taking the first letters of stuff, etc.So probably there's an extra hint that ties to them, but what? _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. Any progress? Any help needed?
I have 49 levels completed, though I realized that I had two puzzles numbered 28. Rather than renumber every page, I pulled one of the two 28s and popped it onto the end. So if you've already passed that point, you may see a puzzle again. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

Not yet, as I'd really hate to renumber almost 50 levels unless I'm really sure about the final order.
Here's a link to four puzzles I was thinking of using. One puzzle will lead to the other, as usual:
http://www.glpics.com/suspence13/test/test.htm
Thoughts? Since you already have ideas on what to do with these, they should be easy. Try to wear your newbie hat while reviewing them. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

No need for renumbering. Just call them tutorial A, B etc, and have a link that skips to the current #1. _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. And quick! |

Ultimately, I'd like to have them included in the level count, so I will renumber everything. I just want to be sure that I have a set lineup for all levels before I do so, so that I only have to do it once.
Any comment on any of the 4 "test" levels? _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

I did the first three. It sounds silly but I think you should have one that just says something like "the answer is in the page source" - it's not 100% clear everyone know such a thing (view page source) is even possible. _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. I had a problem with test level 4 owing to the fact that I have a UK keyboard. It was still perfectly possible, but a bit annoying that such a nicely elegant puzzle fell down at that stage. I agree with Antrax that an explicit instruction to look at the page source would be good to include somewhere.
(In passing I will note that I generally don't like these sort of linear games, simply because when you get stuck there is nowhere else to go. So there is a nasty tendency to give up completely rather than e.g. go off and work on another puzzle and let the first one percolate away in the back of your mind.) _________________

Love this idea. How about - http://glpics.com/suspence13/test/start.htm
I also agree with the linearity problem with the puzzle. It's much too easy to give up on, but there's not a whole lot that can be done. If you run out of ideas on what to do, there aren't too many options. One thought I did have:
Other successful puzzles of this type I have seen have had message boards related to them, where people could discuss puzzles, get hints, etc. This would help you get started again. On one of the initial pages, I can make reference to this thread. People having trouble could visit here, see what we've discussed already, and reach out to me and you guys for further hints.
As far as a list of what I want to cover in the first few levels:
Looking at the source code
Looking at the names of the images
Building solutions letter by letter
A list of tools that might be helpful (currently located in the source of puzzle/start.htm, but I should include this after I've explained the source code)
A link to this thread for help
The concept of converting numbers to letters - seems universally understood here, but probably not everywhere
A simple madgab with explanation
Anything else I should try to cover? _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

Cool. I've got a seven level tutorial built starting at test/start.htm.
Tonight, I'll work on incorporating those into the main puzzle, renumbering, switching everything over to CSS, etc. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

I've incorporated 10 new levels into the beginning of the puzzle, renumbered everything, and changed everything over to CSS.
That gives the puzzle 60 levels. Hopefully, there are at least some people still working on it. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

It's actually based on an encoding method I came up with years ago on the GL, in one of my "Sage Advice" puzzles.
The encoding method is clued by the title of the level. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

That much I gathered. I'll tell you what I tried, tell me how I overthought it:
Since there are 36 letters that don't seem to anagram to anything interesting nor cryptogram etc, I tried arranging them in various rectangles and reading from the top down ("first letters first") to no avail. Anagramming just the first letters of words also didn't suggest much. Adding first letters to each word won't work, since there are too many consonant sequences. _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. Does it help if I tell you that the word lengths and spaces are unchanged from the original quote?
All of the letters are there (and therefore could actually be anagrammed), it is just that the first letters are first. And the second letters are next, etc. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

66 levels now done.
Antrax is on 31 (formerly known as 22) at last check, and I know bgg had made it to 34 (25)at least. Endymion was up to 27 (18)

I went to yellow, blue etc etc, each had a hex code embedded in the image. The hex codes translate to colors, I'm guessing the first letter of each color is the next level. Problem is, they all seem white to me - at best effort I have beige, blue, white, orange, light blue, purple and cyan. Probably you meant other names for the same colors.Hence my gender comment _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. I wouldn't expect either gender to come up with the actual name of these colors on their own. Each color code has a defined HTML color name, for instance when you are writing code you can write either "#F0E68C" or "khaki" _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

Oh, I didn't know that about HTML. Even knowing it, it took 6-7 Google hits until I found the info I needed. Dunno what this says about the difficulty of the puzzle.
BTW, you can put an irrelevant Easter egg if you like: Roy G. Biv is the pseudonym Hugh Bliss uses in the first season of Sam & Max _________________ After years of disappointment with get rich quick schemes, I know I'm gonna get rich with this scheme. And quick! |

Came up right away for me: http://www.google.com/search?q=html+color+names
Plus, if you search on any color, it seems to come up within the first few results as well - http://www.google.com/search?q=F0E68C
I know bgg passed this level without a hiccup. I gave him a small push on the "first things first" encoding to get him to the rainbow puzzle, then the next time I helped him was with the juggler, which is a few levels later.
Hopefully I'll get more feedback to accurately asses how solvable this one was. _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |
