*sigh*

What Jedo finds scummy in me is everything. I remember this from back in the old mafia days. I guess no one remembers my old playing style. And saying "He seemed scummy to me" is not a legitimate reason to lynch someone. Nor is impatience. Mafia scored a big one with this lynch.

Congratz guys for lynching your doctor. Morons.

Ctorj has to be forced up on to the gallows, and he gives a final, vitriolic shout, claiming you all to be mentally deficient (check his spoiler text), before the noose pulls tight. Searching his room later (together, of course), you find the following in his personal journal.

Quote:

Nikolai Delphiki: EMT
I am Nikolai Delphiki, a member of the town. My father was a world-renown doctor, and I've inherited some of his talent. I have a one-time ability to revive one person who was killed. Each night, until I use the ability, the mod will contact me and tell me who has been killed (all of them, if there are more than one). I then can choose to revive one of them or not. However, the person who tried to kill that person will spot me at the scene. Also, the person I revive will lose his extra abilities and will be a vanilla version of whatever alignment he used to be. The person revived will not know that it was I who revived him, but he will know that he was nearly killed and would have been if someone hadn't saved him.

Mod note: I just edited his role PM to make it first person. It didn't work out as well as I had planned. Confused

It is now night. Please send me night actions!

Morning dawns on most of you. Sadly, MNOWAX seems nowhere to be found. A detailed search uncovers a freshly-dug grave containing what little remains of his body. In his room, the following is discovered:

Quote:

Dink Meeker: Paranoid townie
You are Dink Meeker, a member of the town. If anyone targets you in the night, you hide in your secret room in the basement and observe him on your super-secret security system. I will PM you with the player's name and you can choose to meet the person or not. If you do not, then that person does not investigate you, protect you, kill you, or whatever he had planned on. If a second person comes to your room, you, having now relaxed your guard, will be affected, whether you chose to meet the first person or not. (That is, unless you met the first person and that person protects you from the second, such as a doctor protecting you from a night-kill.) Note that killing actions come after investigative and protective actions.

Is this a Mafia game or a Mexican Standoff?

MNO wasn't voting at the end Day 2 (and had been voting Jedo prior to unvoting), so we can't use a direct revenge check there. The only thing I can think of was his back-and-forth with Jedo, but the more I think about it the more it feels like a setup.

As for the Ctorj lynch... okay, the hammer there was not my brightest move ever. Aside from myself, we had UM, who was reluctant to vote; Chaz, who thought he was suspicious of Ctorj anyway; Momland, who I can't seem to get a good read on; and Jedo, who likely was voting Ctorj in response to Ctorj voting Jedo.

It's so cool when people can't get the facts straight. I voted Ctorj first. Oh, Jiminy

Chaz, rae, and Snik have had negligible contributions to this game. (mom could probably be thrown in their too, but I have trouble using that as a scum-tell.) rae has probably contributed the most, followed by Snik, then Chaz. Considering the actual things they've said, I'm willing to vote Chaz for this reason.

vote Chaz

Beyond that, Monk is pretty much cleared in my book. He's had good activity with quality posts.

I've had a PM sent to Chaz and uncollected since last Wednesday. Frankly, I'm worried that it could be something serious -- he's usually on several times a day.

However, with our best wishes for him in real life, bgg1996 is taking his place in the game. Welcome, bgg!

To be honest MNO was the best kill mafia could make cause he didnt post much so not much to go on there i will try to get more reviewing done soon.

Hmmmm, I need a plan. Maybe a discussion starter?
If I were to say "If I were to vote myself, would you vote for me, yes or no, and why?" what would you say, and why? Would it be true?

He's a rookie? I don't really read anything beyond that. His main problem will be an uphill climb (at least in my book).

Anyway, I don't know how to answer the hypothetical question within the hypothetical question. Attempting to do so would probably destroy the time-space continuum. Suffice to say, I am voting you, and you need to square with that. If you want to prove yourself, read the thread and give us some of your thoughts on who you think is scum. Also, post more than your predecessor.

You would be surprised about how many people feel that exact way about my choice of words. It may be due to the fact that I did not offer much to the game as of this point, but still ask you to answer a question that you most likely do not understand the point of.
Anyway, you are probably evil.

I'm actually not too good with this game until there is a lot of info. at hand. Otherwise, I usually just get attention drawn to myself and get lynched.

So... that happened. We have lynched a mafia and a townie. And two more townies have been killed. The info that can be drawn from the MNO murder is what? I am not sure if I am not getting because I am new or is there is nothing to get here!

After going back over posts, I feel UM, JEDO, and CHAZ are the most suspicious. (Sorry BGG) That being said Chaz is on the top of that list

FOS UM and JEDO

but ultimately my vote goes with Chaz (or rather BGG now). VOTE BGG In the end it was Chaz's argument, and Ctorj's lack of convincing argument that lead to my vote on Ctorj.
Confused

Not BECAUSE they voted for me.

I believe that UM to be scum. When Sentran was lynched in three or four consecutive posts, I thought that there would need to be more than just the word of a normal town. He said, as I remember, maybe we'll hit scum, and I believe the other scum took that to mean to bus Sentran. Of the people who posted afterwards, I suspect LIML the most.

unvote

I'm going to reign this back. I think we're at lynch or lose (unless there are only two scum). Here's a vibe I'm getting: I feel Mom and Snik might be the remaining scum. I'm not exactly sure why, but their responses when we start zeroing in on someone strike me as odd. I think we need to use some caution today.

Monk and rae, do you think you could go back and see if there is anything suspicious with these two? Maybe I'm just crazy.

Also, this being the potential endgame, maybe it's time to start considering a mass claim. I'm not fully confident that's what we should do today, but if we really do have two scum left, it will have to be today.

So, in order to defend myself I would need examples of my scummy behavior, but as you have done at least once before you use a “feeling” to make a beginning for your argument. It was a useful tool when you used it to lead the way on the Ctorj lynch. I am not terribly surprised you are “feeling” me now. Laughing

You're very witty.

Anyway, the problem is you have been on every wagon/lynch we have had, but you're not really the person to start it or espouse reasoning. You just join. What's especially striking today is how at the end of yesterday you said Chaz wasn't suspicious at all, but today he's at the top of your list. That doesn't add up.

Since I think we're close to the end, I'm going to leave my vote off for now, but it may be coming soon.

so yeah unless things change i will be voting for bgg.

Alright so now you have given me something to answer.
JEDO
Quote:
Anyway, the problem is you have been on every wagon/lynch we have had…

Well… let’s see… people who voted on Sentran:
UM, JEDO, RAE, SNIK, MNO, AND ME
And who voted on Ctorj?
JEDO, ME, CHAZ, UM, RAE
So, your logic suggests yourself, UM, Rae, and I are all suspicious.
JEDO
Quote:
… but you're not really the person to start it or espouse reasoning.

Hmm… I refer you to the following posts:
Post 97
ME
Quote:
So... UNVOTE VOTE SENTRAN

That being said, I agree that Sentran has been a bit dodgy. He has been rather erratic in voting, and seemed to push random bandwagons heavy. I felt from the beginning that would be detrimental to the town.

Post 123
ME
Quote:
I am not following the logic on scum killing one of thier own Day 1. I watched I believe it was 3 differnt "bandwagons" try to go and stall, it seems to me counterintuitive for scum to bellive that Sentran's wouldn't stall as well. All they would have to do was wait for the deadline, without meeting the vote count. To my way of thinking, that means we should look closer at the people who did not vote Sentran.

Post 127
ME
Quote:
Alright, so here is my somewhat convoluted logic. IF Sentran's lynch was random, meaning the other scum didn't throw him under the bus, then the only clue we have for scum is the first night's death. That being said... wouldn't the scum have gone after a person who did vote for Sentran, being that he was scum?

But they didn't. They went after Wordcross, who was one of the few ineffective votes that day. I having a hard time drawing any conclusion from Wordcross's death UNLESS it was a revenge vote. He voted for Ctorj. I realize my logic is thin here, but really, it has all been this so far, the scum had nothing to gain from Wordcross's death unless Ctorj is scum.

*sigh* Yeah... I know. Thin and convoluted. Maybe it's because I am new, I just don't see who had anything to gain from Word's death.

Post 147
ME
Quote:
In reviewing posts, the only thing that sticks out is lots of reliance on past games, which I can not judge having not been involved, and the death of Word. I stand by my notion that, had the vote on Sentran had been a deliberate act of the mafia, someone on that vote would have been targeted night one. Since they were not, I believe I must look seriously at who did NOT vote Sentran. Ctorj's arguments in defense of himself did not convince me, Chaz has not struck me as anything at all, much less scummy. So... thin as it may be, I will come down on this side of the fence.
VOTE CTORJ

Would that be the reasoning I don’t espouse? Just asking…
JEDO
Quote:
You just join.

Perhaps you meant I do not lead the way on town lynches like you?
I refer you to the following posts:
post 110
JEDO
Quote:
No surprises, but I'm sure at least one of the people who switched to Sentran is scum. I'll wade through that later. For now, I am somewhat suspicious of Ctorj. It's just a feeling I have right now, but I'll go back and look at his posts later (especially when more have been posted).

Post 140
JEDO
Quote:
My vote is currently on Ctorj, and I like it there. Here's why:

1) His first day contributions are mostly null. Mostly some one-liners and a comment about not seeing anything solid. It's kind of understandable, but if you generate discussion, things always pop up. His contributions do not lean toward the category of "generating discussion." Also, the vote on wordcross was a flimsy, ancient-meta vote. Also understandable considering the "rust," but with the other it looks more suspicious.

2) Day 2: votes for Chaz even though he "isn't particularly scummy." This is not a good play. Scum wanting to look productive and blend in? Maybe. The vote is abandoned shortly after doing some research.

3) Uses some logic for why Chaz is now innocent: scum wouldn't vote each other day 1. This is huge WIFOM and not a very strong argument. Distancing and bussing are pretty classic, and when the going gets tough, the scum do crazy things. You do what you have to do. (Thank you, Sarah.)

4) Points out that at least one of the people voting Sentran are scum. No kidding. How many other people speculated that already? Again, trying to look productive. Wait for the setup to turn on Jedo...there it is! Scum are silent day 2, and Jedo is silent, ergo, Jedo is scum. Easy target. (Since I cleared up my silence, I should be off the list now.)

5) Look at Ctorj's most recent post. The astronomical occurrence is two scum voting a third on day 1. *shrug* Maybe, maybe not. It's not unheard of. That doesn't clear Chaz like it apparently did earlier. Chaz and Sentran being scum could have both voted for Monk who is town. That's not part of the astronomical unlikelihood. It also is conveniently ignored as a possibility.

So, based on Ctorj's logic, both other scum (assuming there are two) were not voting Sentran, meaning at most one was voting their buddy. The two (uncleared) people not voting Sentran were Ctorj and Chaz. You can see where I smell something foul.

Now, finally I address your last point. On day 2 Chaz had not made much of a impression on me, but with the dawn of Day 3 I realized you, Chaz, and UM argued rather convincingly that Ctorj was being scummy. I felt from the start that my reasons were weak, but your comments and Ctorj lack of convincing counter argument were the final straws. As I reviewed day 2 posts Chaz's arguments were IMHO the first arguments not based on "feelings". Razz

Now that's a good post. Your actions seem more reasonable now, though I can still see a taint.

I think we need to mass claim. There's no way around it. It's rough because we no longer have a doctor (in theory), but I think it has to be done. Maybe we could just go in alphabetical order. Input would be nice, but I'm happy to just have bgg start for no other reason than to save his tail from another vote.
