Does this choice occur more than once per day?
Is it always the same choice?
Do you get a little happier each time you make the choice?

Will you keep making this choice for your entire life?
Will you keep making this choice for at least 1 day?

Are you a vegan/vegetarian?
If so, are you being forced into choosing meat-based dishes?
If so, do you pick the one you hate most to remind you how good being vegan makes you feel?
Does your sister now live with you and insist on cooking, and she's no good at it, so no matter what you choose, you'll be unhappy, and you may aas well maximize the experience.
Oh wait, that last one was me during a time when I was still single. Never mind. |

Are you eating something that is in limited supply?
Do you replace the items that you eat?
Is your emotional response due to the making of the choice? The eating of the object? An effect of eating the object (e.g. evokes a memory)? |

At the time of consumption:
Is the food solid?
Is the food liquid?
Is the food a seasoning?
Is the food what most people would consider the main course?
Is the food what most people would consider a side dish?
(by the way - bacon - is "normally" a side. So if you were eating a BLT, Bacon is NOT to be considered the main dish)
Is the food animal (meat)?
Is the food vegetable (fruits included here)?
Is the food part of an egg?
Are there multiple parts to the food?
Do you seperate one part (remove the skin from chicken, or remove the yolk from an egg)?
Are you boycotting something?
Is it something you buy from a restaurant?
Is it something you buy at a grocery store?
Is it something you buy in a specialty store?
Are you buying organic only? |

So, you separate this plant-based food, eat one part and not the other. Correct?
Do you discard the uneaten portion?

If it's not an onion...
Are you peeling away the outer layer of lettuce?

Are you eating a fruit that has a consumable skin/peel (grapes, strawberries, etc, versus oranges, bananas, etc)
Is your choice of when to eat the fruit dealing with "when" in the sense of a moment that can be measured in time? (hopefully this makes more sense with the second question) or...
Is your choice of when to eat the fruit dealing with the condition of the fruit itself?
For example - you buy bananas. Are you less happy because you chose to eat them at night versus in the morning. Or, are you less happy because you chose to eat the banana even after it has black spots on/in it?
Do you buy your fruit from Costco?
Are you "forced" to buy 5 lbs of something, but there is no realistic way you can eat 5 pounds of fruit before some of the fruit starts to spoil?
Do you choose to throw away the spoiled fruit, making you sad?
What about strawberries/berries. No matter what, it always seems every container of berries has mold on it "inside". Are you discovering some of the berries are covered with mold as you are eating them? |

I thought we'd solved it.
The color Yellow makes you happy, and you choose the banana that makes you the least happy? (because it's the most ripe, and the one that's about to spoil.) _________________ The enemy's base is down. |

At the time you purchased the banana(s):
Do you buy just 1 banana?
Do you buy between 2-5?
Between 5 - 10?
Between 10 - 15?
More than 15?
Are they green?
Are they yellow?
Are they close to turning brown?
Do you intentionally wait for the banana to turn brown before you eat it?
Do you start off buying a bunch of bananas (let's say 10). You eat one each day (while they are still yellow). But by the 6th day (as the remaining bunch starts to turn brown) one has turned "browner" than the other 4?
Do you then choose to eat the one that is going bad first, thus extending the shelf life of the remaining 4 bananas?
Do you not like the taste of the banana when it is yellow?
Do you not like the taste of the banana when it is brown?
Do you not like the texture of the banana when it is yellow?
Do you now like the texture of the banana when it is brown?
Is there something that takes place in a banana (level of sugar, etc) that changes when a banana turns brown? |
