Saw this one in a magazine and couldn't get it.
A car dealer orders 150 black cars, 56 silver cars, 550 gold cars, and 100 yellow cars. How many blue cars does he order?
I don't know the answer to this one. |

Maybe this similar puzzle will help you out, Gomez. (not my invention)
Julius Caesar decided to throw a big party, and he ordered a bunch of togas for his guests to wear. He ordered 40 extra large togas, 50 large togas... and for some reason, he ordered 1000 medium togas. And he didn't order any small ones!
Why did he do this? |

| Shouldn't it be 1001 Medium togas? Or just 10 Extra large? But then there would be 50 smalls. I don't think the toga problem is actually consistent. |

Now the toga problem seems perfectly consistent to me, in a way that the car one doesn't (it's much less elegant too.) (Do they have a different way of labelling clothes where you are?) _________________

| They seem identical to me Scurra, what's inconsistent about the Car one? |

I got the second one, but I don't know how it pertains to the first (there are code letters for colors for cars?) _________________ The Man The Myth The Legend

I had the biggest problem with the Yellow cars. If they'd been Cyan perhaps? But not Yellow. (Not that the others aren't all pretty dodge as well. Whereas the toga version is much more elegant.) _________________

I guess I didn't think to the abbreviations for toga sizes.
For the cars: if there had been a "Milky" color, the man would order 1051 is my understanding.
I guess the toga problem is more elegant. |

| At least with all the cars but yellow, you can take the roman numerals and make the highest number and it's legitimate. LL is not a number. |
