For the second, after Mr. Enigma's, is it:
Apollo, Adeplhi, Globe, Rose --> Theatres
Fist, Duke, Cross, Duchess (of Queensbury) --> Boxing Terms
Tegan, Sarah Jane, Ace, Lady? --> Dr. Who characters?? |

Quailman - you've got two of the themes identified, but you only have three right in each of the groups. The "kicks in martial arts" group was right, although the actual team was thrown by "Roundhouse" which they started out by trying to put in the Theatres group. _________________

Yes, I don't think the Marquess of Queensbury would be too happy that you called him a duchess!
I don't think Lady was a Dr. Who character, so how about:
Tegan, Sarah Jane, Ace, Rose --> Dr. Who characters
Apollo, Adeplhi, Globe, Duchess --> Theatres
Which leaves Fist, Duke, Lady, Cross
Before you posted Scurra, I was going to put Cross as a kick and Crescent in the Theatres. |

| I think Quailman's right about the first pic, with the rest of the answer being Blackmail is also a Hitchcock film, and Pew, Silver, Hands and Bones are characters from Treasure Island. |

Wow. These are hard! In the show, do they have opportunity to guess, get some feedback, and guess again? Or is it a one-time guess and you're right or wrong.
Alpha:
Hume and Locke are both philosophers. With a little work on Wikipedia, I see that there were philosophers named Berlin and Green and Mill, but I had never heard of them. (Well, maybe Berlin.)
Grass and Pot (and maybe Tea) are nicknames for marijuana. Don't see another.
Beta:
Time, Vogue, and Forbes are well-known magazines, but I don't see another.
Rockefeller, Agnew, Fairbanks, Humphrey were all U.S. Vice-Presidents who never became President. I feel pretty good about this one. Bush was also a Vice-President -- if the division is post WW II vs. pre-WW II, he could replace Fairbanks (who was Teddy Roosevelt's VP), or you could replace Humphrey with Bush and they are all republicans, but I like the first grouping better. |

Beta:
The fourth magazine is Arena
Zag, I think the other category you've got is allowed to be simply U.S. Vice Presidents and any of the 5 can be in a different group. (Like 300 and the films, from the all-numbers round). |

Hmmm. Maybe the baseball hits were there as misdirection, after all.
The trickiest word here, IMHO, is FLEA. "Flea market" and "flea circus" are all I can think to do with it, and those go nowhere.
Hmmm. How about flea bag, bean bag, double bag , and ...? |

In beta, I see three soups: Alphabet, mock turtle, and pea, I don't recognize a fourth. The Through the Looking Glass characters is an obvious false lead, so I'm not even going to invis it.
Also are things that one can be "Mad as" (March Hare, Wet Hen), making me disappointed not to find a Hatter. Maybe it's just classic similies, including "Dumb as a bag of hammers" and "Hairy as an ape." |

Daisy
Barf
Disaster
Sugar
Orange
Desire
Epic
Electra
Rose
Magnificent
