IMDB has a squirrely system that attaches odd keywords to movies. Some are pretty wacky, honestly. What are the common keywords to these movies? All answers are one word, because I don't think anyone can guess something like "Self Inflicted Slashing of Arm".

I'm listing 6 for each keyword, just in case I want to call the game Six Degrees of Plot Machination.

1. The Shining (1980), Sleuth (1972), Cube (1997), Pac-Man (1982 video game), TRON (1982), Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) M_____ Solved: Maze (Scurra)

2. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), Planet Of The Apes (1968), Inherit The Wind (1960), X2 (2003), The Time Machine (2002), A Sound Of Thunder (2005) E_____ Solved: Evolution(Scurra)

3. John Doe (2002 TV Series), The Great Dictator (1940), Dark City (1998), The Bourne Identity (2002), Angel Heart (1987), Good Bye Lenin! (2003) A_____ Solved: Amnesia (Scurra)

4. The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957), Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002), Shrek 4-D (2003 short), Final Destination 2 (2003) S_____

5. Frankenstein (1931), Shrek (2001), Army of Darkness (1992), Moulin Rouge! (2001), Man of La Mancha (1972), Animal Farm (1954) W_____ Solved: Windmill (Scurra)

6. South Park (1997 TV series), Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008), Star Wars Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Labyrinth (1986), Mystery Science Theater 3000 (1988 TV series), Saw (2004) P_____ Solved: Puppet (Jack_Ian)

Nobody? Maybe these aren't as obvious as I thought. I'll edit to give the initial letter of each keyword.

I assume that going to IMDB and poking around is considered cheating for this puzzle. I haven't used the keywords feature at all on that site, so I don't know the sorts of keywords they use -- how far out on a limb do they get?

I did look through your lists and nothing jumped out at me. Unfortunately, every list has at least 2 movies I haven't seen. Several of your lists have more than one movie I've never even heard of. But I'm not much of a movie buff, so I'm not sure I count. (But I didn't want you to think you'd been ignored. Extreme Delectation )

OK, here are some guesses.

#1: Maze
#2: Evolution
#3:Amnesia
#4: Snake
#5: Windmill

Not even a wild idea for #6 though.

I'd go along with Scurra's with the exception of:
#4 Sword
#6 Puppet

Oh that's much more plausible.

How about #6: Puppet?? (Revenge most foul! simul-edit)

Scurra got 1, 2, 3, & 5.
Jack_Ian got 6.

#4 is exceptionally close. If you haven't seen The Incredible Shrinking Man, I recommend it. Yes, it's cheesy 50's sci-fi, but it actually has something intelligent to say.
