I think the takeaway here is that women are more likely to donate to Obama than Romney, which is unsurprising.

I got an email with the subject line "Help Ensure Twiggy's Safe Release". I wasn't even aware that she had been take hostage. But it turned out to be a manatee being released into the wild.

Oh, definitely, but I think the outrage expressed in the story's comment section is a little much.

Also, I'm amused by the blue dot for Lorenzo in the middle of a swath of pink.

Ice cream trucks are now playing Easter songs. They were playing Christmas songs in the summer. Maybe their computer's system clock needs resetting.

I feel like I am going to regret asking this... but what is an "Easter song"? Do you have examples? Something that would be easily recognizable when played through a set of Ice Cream Truck bells?

I had to go into work at 9 am today. That might seem normal to you lot, but I'm the night admin so I normally don't come in until later. It'd be like you 9-5ers going in at 5 am.

Anyway, as I'm sitting at my desk, trying to wake up enough for the task that needs doing, I'm chitchatting with the other two assistant directors. Suddenly, our boss and his boss (the program and site director, respectively) walk in and stand just inside the door about 20 feet in front of my desk. They suddenly bring up their arms, guns in each hand pointed right at me.

I ducked behind my monitor as the rounds sped my direction, a couple hitting my monitor, and a couple more hitting the wall behind me. My partners are stunned at the brazen assassination attempt. My would-be assassins grin and laugh as they take their time reloading, knowing I'm trapped. However, I open my desk drawer and grab two weapons of my own and return fire before they're ready, wounding each of them.

They flee before my onslaught, and I press the advantage. An exchange of gunfire startles the secretary, who looks on in surprise. They attempt to barricade themselves in the PDs office, but I wedge my foot in just in time. Being out of ammo, they surrender.

The prisoners were convicted and executed in the main part of the office as an example to others. Later, at their trial, witnesses agreed that I am the Camp Nerf Champion.

This was not an unusual event.

In my desk are two small off-brand pistols that are super cheap and have three shots apiece.

For staff wars outside the office, I have a modded Maverick, a stock Stampede, and a stock Rampage which I may have fallen in love with.

....There is a Nerf Blaster Wiki. I am in awe.

Anyway, the Maverick is an OK side-arm, but I find it too prone to jams personally. I prefer my Longshot, especially when you break it down to just the assault rifle portion. I also have the Switchshot, but I bought it for the Wii, not for Nerf.. and I've yet to use it. *shrug*

I also had a Secret Strike I'd keep concealed, but that sucker was fragile as all hell, and busted in about two months time.

...What?

My choice is the Maverick, and I've never had problems with jams. The Rampage is also good.

Among our group, we once had two Vulcans. During a major war at a youth camp, we set them both up aimed at a bottleneck and destroyed the kids who tried to come at us. Epic.

The Maverick is what I use as a loaner. The Stampede is good, but I've been lazy about getting new batteries for it, so it has sat for a few weeks.

I really am in love with the Rampage. If I could find a shoulder stock to put on the back of it (it can take one, but it doesn't come with it. The Retaliator does, but I'm not ready to spend 20 bucks on a gun just for the one part) it would be perfect.

Thanks, Dew I expect (it was taken over 2 years ago on April 18th 2010 - when the chance of overnight frost is rather low). One morning in the park near our previous home in Almere (east of Amsterdam).

Heard a film critic critique the final instalment in the Twilight saga.
He was not much enamoured with the movie saga in general but his comment about this one cracked me up.

He said he he kept expecting them to break out into a rendition of "Oh The vampires and the werewolves should be friends", like the Oklahoma classic. Felicitous

I watched a couple of movies that I had seen countless times before and saw things I had never noticed before.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (My family has made a tradition of watching this movie Thanksgiving evening every year): Cousin Eddie's (Randy Quaid) pants are incredibly tight while he and Clark (Chevy Chase) are walking through the Walmart. You can clearly see his whole package. The shot lasts several seconds while they're walking toward the camera. Mrs. Q is the one who noticed.

Coming to America: King Joffa (James Earl Jones), while tracking down his son in the states, at one point says "Do not alert him to my presence. I'll deal with him myself." I think that's the same line he used in The Empire Stikes Back.

There's a couple of victims that start reacting to the girl before they can see her. I suppose it's possible that they heard the girl coming in, it's hard to tell with that stupid laugh track.

My wife and I drove behind a car with license plate CARMS. She thought that it might be the owner's name, but I thought "Maybe the car has multiple sclerosis."

Then I realized that that was just impossible. MS, after all, is an auto-immune disease.
