| I bet I could post the entirety of "Green Eggs And Ham" and get a Spam Ratio of somewhere in the 66% range. |

YES! DING DING DING DING DING!
Well...for this thread anyways.
Congratulations to Suspence! You are a spammer! And with that, the first game of Spam Percentages is brought to a swift and dutiful close.
Was it simplistic for a spam rule? Maybe, but, this game was the first of its brand. There is always room down the line for improvement. |

Nice one. So, should I take over and define my own rule? In this thread or a new one? _________________ I hate people who try to write interesting things in their signature. |

If you want to start your own, I can edit the title and we can start from here if you want. |

Not quite.
Letters that correspond to prime numbers, and the letter a, are spam. |

1's factors are 1 and itself... |

When the Cauldron games were going, they usually were created in new threads. It usually works better then keeping one thread alive. |

It's nice to know that some of you take full enough stock in Wikipedia to take information written there as truth.
It has been a historically accepted definition that 1 is a prime number, if you choose to believe differently, that's your choice. |

Modern mathematicians don't consider 1 a prime number, since there are fairly important things that don't work if 1 is prime. (For example, the ring Z/1Z isn't a field in a way that allows for interesting linear algebra, while Z/pZ is a field for every prime number. Also, uniqueness of prime factorization effectively falls apart if 1 is a prime.)
1 is properly considered a unit, rather than being prime or composite. |

I'm inclined to trust Wikipedia, especially when it confirms what I already know. You could check that article's references if you don't trust it.

What an odd thing to frame as a question of belief. |

If you define 1 to be a prime number, then the Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic is false. (That is, no positive integer would have a unique prime factorization.)
You could, of course, restate the Fundamental Theorem to only involve primes other than one. However, as factorization is my main use for the definition of a prime number, I would find this most inconvenient. |

1 as a prime? gah! My eyes. My poor punished eyes.
I declare this game void on account of a form defect. _________________ Jan 21st, 2008: The pillaging continues.
