I heard recently that nine people as a unit (all dressed the same) had travelled to six places to play a particular game. They'd observed a particle and two waveforms, then after the first applause died down, had a couple of dances and a drink.

I'm not sure when this happened - does anyone know?

I've a feeling this has something to do with baseball...but I know almost nothing about the game or specific events.

I've consulted with my lawyer, Ferris, and he's asked me to state that *nothing* happened nine months ago, and, if it did, that I was not with them. Wink

[Off the record: I heard rumours about a couple of dodgy Greek characters and some lovers getting split up...]

If you are patient, I think you'll hear it happening again in a few months.

Yeah, I remember seeing that on the Montreal news, or was it the New Delhi gazette? I forget.

I don't really understand why they travelled to six places though. I can only see 5, (and 2 of them are a stretch)

I'm pretty pleased with how that turned out. I'd been watching a crime drama where the police intercepted a phone conversation mentioning 'Charlie and Mike' - explained as a military code for 'Continue Mission'. So I got to thinking: how could I disguise all the NATO phonetic alphabet in as short a story as possible?

Therefore, Charlie, Juliet, Mike, Oscar, Papa, Romeo, Victor, a Yankee and a Zulu, as a UNIT (Kilo) played Golf in or at a Delta, a Hotel, India, Lima, Quebec and Sierra (Lione - yes, a bit of a stretch*). An Echo and an X-ray were the waveforms and Alpha the particle. Bravo = applause, and you probably don't need me to then explain the dances and the drink.

Meaning 'November' is the right answer.

*I figure that if I give 25 clues to people, then I'm allowed to make one of them a little tenuous!

Devious...and just a bit obscure.

Co-incidentally, I couldn't remember the "P" codename last Friday when relaying some information. If only I'd known...
