I've taken a bunch of words and tinkered with them just a little bit to give a bunch of different words, which are defined below. Sometimes I've added a letter, sometimes I've taken one away, and sometimes I've just changed one. Your task is to guess the 'new' words from the definitions. If you get stuck, you can check your fictionary (ba-dum-bum!).

Example: Ginhaler: Someone who gets drunk as quickly as possible.

Okay, here are the proper ones. I've only done a few 'cos it's late. Feel free to add your own.

1) The irrational terror of being knocked down by an inexperienced limo driver. - Solved - Lepton

2) A condition which leaves the sufferer with no friends and absolutely no desire for any. (9) Improved on by Oscar

3) Artificially grown wheat based Italian food. (10)

4) A circumference of ursine creatures. (8) Solved - Trojan Horse

5) First floor brothel entrance. (6)

Correct answers so far (invizzed):

1) Chauffear
2) Palitosis/Pallergy
3)
4) Bearring
5)

#4 I was thinking bearder, but that would be adding a letter and changing another. However, if you change the definition to be "an ursine creature who pays to live in your house" then it works. (border vs. boarder)

Good guesses, but only one correct so far. I've added the word lengths to the OP to help out.

Sorry, I don't get this one. What word for circumference is one letter off from this? (I could see "Ursine aural decoration" though.)

It's one letter off from "bearing". The word for circumference is "ring".

I'll give you a hint. The first letter for 3 is P and the first letter for 5 is S.

Sorry, but I'm not a big fan of either of those, the first because it doesn't actually form the word that the clue is cluing (I feel "pasta" needs to be completely formed for it to work...for example, "Material on a dictator's lawn" could clue Castroturf), and the second because the clue is deliberately confusing (I suppose a window could be an entrance, but since we don't know if we're adding a letter, removing a letter, or changing a letter, the clues need to be VERY straightforward).

But a window is the only kind of entrance you'd get on the first floor of a building.

Huh? A window is the only kind of entrance you'd get on any floor other than the first. On the first you also have doors, which is what most people use.

Ah, hang on. I think I've found the problem here. What you Americans call the first floor, we limeys call the ground floor, and what you call the second floor, we call the first floor, and so on. Forgot about that. The clue should read: Second floor brothel entrance, to which the answer 'Sindow' (sinful + window) should hopefully make more sense Felicitous

You start floor indexing at 0? The British invented computer programming arrays too, didn't they?
