Let's humour this spammer for a minute.There has to be a catch, because no-one gives away $500 for nothing in return...
(Deliberately no spoilers.)
First question :
first answer is http://solve4cash.net/antidisestablishmentarianism
second question:
| Quote: |
| Let the real fun begin. Let's get Wired, where the creator of Lost appeared. Above where he sits a big number resides, multiply by 100 and come back here |
Well, there are 3 co-creators: Jeffrey Lieber, J.J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof
Best I could find was this article: http://www.wired.com/techbiz/people/magazine/17-05/mf_jjessay
got it.The arcticle date is 17.05 (issue date, appears above the picture of him) so http://solve4cash.net/1705
3rd question:
| Quote: |
What is the pro football stadium that gives you the best chance of obtaining a ticket? Surely by now, you'd know the man that rules the Slop and has his own rockets.
Remember just his first name.
Now think of someone who's won gold because of his famous red part. Replace 1705 in the address bar with this man's exact name. |
Feel free to take over, anyone... |

Washington redskins has the best chance for a pro ticket in football(biggest stadium by seats) Could be talking about the Detroit lions, too (since their season was so horrible, their ticket prices must have dropped)

Nice start to the puzzle Scott. For the people participating in the puzzle, I am getting something in return. There is no catch. Follow the clues and the money will be paid.
I have created several successful projects before and hope solve4cash does the same: www.vibrantdesigninc.com |

Ok... though I'd assume no-one here is instantly going to befriend you with an intro like that. (Not that you'd care)
I guess this is like RiddlePlanet/HTPo etc, with a prize funded by Google ads on each page. No harm in that...
How many questions in the comp? (Just so I can be sure you don't keep adding some in some con-artist type way..)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back to the 'riddle' -
According to wiki, Beaver Stadium wins in capacity...
Slop/Rockets probably a reference to Bart Strik, who played with the "Explosion Rockets", who played "Slop" music..
BartBeaver is not the answer... |
There are 11 parts to the puzzle. Each step closer means the clues get harder.
Future puzzles will be tweaked based on the feedback from the initial puzzle. The prize total may go up or down depending on how much money advertisers pay. |
About the football stadium:
Fawcett Stadium in Canton, OH is used for the football HOF game every year, other than that high schools and colleges use the field. If the HOF game is enough to qualify it as a professional stadium, it might be the easiest stadium to get tickets, at least for the other games in the year that are played there. |
The prize total may go up or down depending on how much money advertisers pay. ?!?!?
You can't do that! That completely contradicts the stated rules, and yourself:
#1: "If you solve the puzzle, you will win a $500 check."
#4: "There is no catch. Follow the clues and the money will be paid."
Besides that, on the webpage, the big green logo says "$500 cash", but the rules say "check". I have a US address, but a 'check' is no use to me. I'd take a Paypal payment - is that on offer? |
I think he means that future prize money may go up or down depending upon this one. _________________
It looks like you will need to find a number of hidden clues within Fantasy Sports Portal before you are done (probably just spoilered, but maybe you need to scan the HTML). The site looks huge, so unless you are going to be walking through it anyway, I can't see it being worth the effort.
Which is probably their hook in the first place -- they are assuming that the demographic interested in solving puzzles will also be interested in their product. It is a lot less obnoxious than a lot of forms of advertising, but I don't think I'll be participating.
PuzzleScot, if you win, I'm sure you can get one of us to accept the check on your behalf and PayPal you the money. I'd be glad to do it. Or I'll vouch for Pablo, who gave an honest accounting and paid up on the bet he and I had about his Scrabble games. |
Thanks for the offer Zag
However, I can't imagine getting to the end of this by myself. Besides, it's not hard to think of better uses of my time.
so, here's a thought. If we as a group can win this, we can use it for future contest prizes...
PS. I still have an uncashed cheque from Nathan Hasselbauer (IHIQS) on my office wall  |
Yes, the money pot will go up or down in future puzzles. My statement was slightly misunderstood.
Also, about the cash / check debate. I surely can't send $500 cash in the postal mail, with no way of knowing if the winner received it. Therefore, a check is the best option for me. Plus its always nice to have a prize you wait a few days for, then can actually open. (Paypal ruins the fun)
Zag, I tried to make sure the puzzle was fun and the advertiser didn't take any of the fun away. There are no popups or annoying spam offers. By having FantasySP as part of the puzzle, it is the only way I can offer $500 to the winner.
I also have no problem with a friend cashing the check, then forwarding the money to the actual winner. As long as you trust your friend
It may be best to work with a group of friends to finish the puzzle before others. Some have made some real progress so far. |
I didn't mean to imply that I felt there was anything wrong with your game. If I were otherwise considering using the FantasySP site, your game would probably push me over the edge. But I'm not and your game is not quite enough of a draw on its own.
My voice carries no weight other than a fairly long-time member, but I don't even mind the spam, since it looks like you did have a real puzzle to solve, and I assume that you really have the money if someone solves it. I hope it isn't impossible.
Best of luck with it. |
Obtaining a ticket -> Bills? Ralph Wilson Stadium?
Chargers doesn't work quite as well (Qualcomm Stadium)
For "think of someone who's won gold because of his famous red part", I was thinking either Warren Beatty in "Reds" or Morgan Freeman who played Red in "Shawshank Redemption", but neither of those dudes actually won the oscar. |
