1) A woman was found dead in town A and the time of death was proved to be at 1:30. The main suspect was discovered in town B at 3:00. The journey from town A to B would have taken at least 2 and a half hours but he was convicted of the murder. How?

2) A ship is found on the sea bed completely intact with no damage and an eye witness to the incident said that it went down quickly; ruling out a slow filling with water, so how did it sink?

1)the suspect could have traveled across a time zone or the time of death could have been 1:30 pm and he was apprehended at 3:00 am (13.5 hours later).

2)A theory exists among serious scientists that a high concentration of gas hydrates in the Bermuda Triangle area exists which causes the water to become less dense within small patches. This would cause ships to sink quickly and without a trace.

1) Maybe he killed her halfway between the towns, put her body on a truck headed for A, and then drove to B.

1) The killer moved at relativistic speeds -- there is no absolute intertial frame of reference...

2) Technically, a submarine is a 'boat'...

(1) He was a co-conspirator, and thus convicted of the murder even though he did not perform the fatal act.

OR

(1) He was the twin of the actual murderer, and the jury unfortunately did not believe his denials. (The question said that he was *convicted* for the murder, not that he actually committed the murder.)

1) He killed her on a train. Or maybe the jury is just really stupid. Either way.

On 1, what's your response to the kurt's time zone theory?

And kurt, on 2, I had heard that as many ships had disappeared within the Bermuda triangle as had in, on average, any other part of the ocean with the same area.

I think I saw that same program. That's true. Pockets of gas hydrates are located all over the world, and (unrelated) just as many ships have disappeared all over the world. This in addition to Jaws has kept me out of the water for the past lsdjkf years.

The suspect in 1 travelled across no time zones. You are on the right track for number 2 but can you be more specific with the gas?

1) The murder took place during Daylight Savings Time and the murderer was caught during Standard Time. (Clocks change at 2:00 AM)
