Time for another one. This time, all the answers are titles of well-known adventure games, no obscure stuff this time (meaning essentially, only LucasArts and Sierra On-ine games). Without further ado:
A. Scenarios:
Adventure games often put you in weird situations. Can you tell in which game you are:
- Tied to a chair and women want to shave your legs? Space Quest 4, solved by mole
- Watching a person throwing boulders at your house? Escape from Monkey Island, solved by Logain
- Dueling with a scythe on board of a ship? Grim Fandango, solved by Sofis
- Hanging over a pit of acid? The Secret of Monkey Island - LeChuck's Revenge, solved by Logain
- On the bottom of the ocean, chained to a large statue? The Secret Of Monkey Island, solved by Logain
B. Objectives
Adventure Games pose unique challenges. So, can you tell in which
game you need to:
- Resurrect a man? The Dig, solved by Sofis
- Reconstruct a skeleton of an alien? The Dig, solved by Tablesaw
- Peel fake barf from the ceiling? Day of the Tentacle, solved by Logain
- Steal a road ramp? Full Throttle, solved by quercitron
- Steal Termites? Escape from Monkey Island, solved by Tablesaw
C. Complete the sentence
Complete the following sentences:
- "The short one with the big hair, and the tall one with the big hands", solved by Jen Aside
- "Whenever I smell asphalt, I think of Maureen", solved by quercitron
- "I'd rather have no hair than your hair", solved by planet_buzz
- "I need a lead on a rich, dead, saint", solved by William Where
- "My attacks have left entire islands depopulated! -With your breath, I'm sure they all suffocated", solved by Tablesaw
D. What is the matrix?
What are the following, and in which game do they appear?
- The Number 9 - The express train from "Grim Fandagon", solved by Tablesaw
- Sekei Madole Tiny ritual coffin from Gabriel Knight, solved by Jen Aside.
- Onklunk Musical instrument from Leisure Suit Larry 2, solved by Taflinel
- The Ultimate Insult A powerful voodoo talisman from Escape from Monkey Island, solved by William Where
- Orat A monster you have to kill in Space Quset 1, solved by mole
E. Which doesn't belong?
Be sure to explain why.
- "Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis", "Leisure Suit Larry in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals", "Gabriel Knight - Sins of the Father", "Day of the Tentacle" LSL3, a side-answer provided by Logain -- Day of the Tentacle, only one in which you cannot die, solved by William Where
- "The Secret of Monkey Island", "The Secret of Monkey Island - LeChuck's revenge", "The Curse of Monkey Island", "Escape from Monkey Island" numerous good side answers provided by William Where
- "Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis", "The Curse of Monkey Island", "Day of the Tentacle", "Full Throttle" Full Throttle - the rest are sequels, solved by Tablesaw
- "Space Quest 4", "Leisure Suit Larry 3", "Gabriel Knight 2", "Police Quest 1" PQ1, side answer provided by Logain
- "Fester Shinetop", "Guybrush Threepwood", "Herman Toothrot", "Charles L. Charles" Guybrush Threepwood - the only "real name", Sofis
I think this one is the hardest yet, even though no answer relies on you knowing weird games like Sepllcasting 301. As always, once a third bump is required, I'll provide the answers to the unsolved ones.

Starting with the ones I'm least sure of (out of the ones I have any clue on):
A3 Grim Fandango (I think I know all the other A:s)
B1 The Dig
D2 Gabriel Knight 1
E5 Guybrush Threepwood - this one's not an assumed name.

Hmm...
I'm pretty sure B1 is The Dig, and B4 is Full Throttle.
On that line, C2 is "think of Maureen."
I know A5, but can't think of it, and D4 sounds like it's from a Monkey Island game...

I'll take a few guesses...
Oddly, all A's remind me of a Monkey Island.
A2. Escape From Monkey Island (Start of the game after just getting to the island)?
A3. Curse Of Monkey Island (Plundering Ships)?
A4. Secret Of Monkey Island II (when you're trapped hanging with the monicle guy)?
A5. Secret of Monkey Island (right after LeChuck captures you and takes the governor)?
B2. Zak McKracken?
B3. Day Of The Tentacle?
E1. Leisure Suit larry III...Only one you needed to type commands?
E2. Secret Of Monkey Island II...the only one subtitled using a Roman numeral designation?
E3. Full Throttle...Only one with a full musical soundtrack?
E4. Police Quest 1...Only one that was remade into 256 colors? |

B2 is also from the Dig, and B5 is in Escape from Monkey Island.
C5 is an insult from MI1, but I can't recall the response. It probably has something to do with body odor, though.
E1. Day of the Tentacle: Sequel that doesn't include the name of the hero in the title/Sequel that doesn't share any part of its title with the original game.
E3. Full Throttle: All the others are sequels.
E5. I think that Charles L. Charles was not a character in the original MI, only in one of the sequels.

A1 is one of the Space Quest games... the fourth or tenth I think.
And so is D5 - Orat is a monster thing you have to kill in the first game, if I remember it correctly. |

A very nice bunch, and some side answers to "who's different", as I expected. Please note in "What is the Matrix" you have to also say what the said expression stands for, and not just name the game from which it came. Tablesaw, welcome aboard. I wonder if you could've solved some of the older ones.
Logain,

"The Curse of Monkey Island" also has a soundtrack, albeit a less musical one. However, it was still sold.

| I'm pretty sure D4 is from the First Monkey island and is needed to beat someone in a sword fight at one point in the game (I would be more specific but it has been a pretty long time since I've played that game) |

C5: How appropriate! You fight like a cow!
Actually, it's "With your breath, I bet they suffocated." I was right about the breath, wrong about the game. It's from the Curse of Monkey Island.
Also, D4, The Ultimate Insult was the MacGuffin in Escape from Monkey Island.

| C4 is Gabriel Knight as well, I think. Gabe telling Grace to do some research on Malia Gedde. I don't remember the exact quote though (assuming I'm correct). |

Ooh, it's going fast. Tablesaw, what's a MacGuffin? Sofis, you're incorrect about the game. The reserach about malia gedde request was made innocently by knight and rewarded him with sarcastic comments from Grace regarding the reason for the research, but the dialogue doesn't contain a line similar to the one in the question.

C1. Sam & Max Hit the Road:
Max: "One was a short guy with big hair-"
Sam: "The other was a tall guy with big hands."
Shep: "Oh, you must be talking about internationally renowned recording star Conroy Bumpus!"
Burl: "And his assistant, Lee-Harvey."
D2. It's "Sekey Madoulé," and it's a tiny ritual coffin. Gabriel puts a transponder in it to track "DJ." |

Ah, Jen Aside, I was waiting for you to stumble on this thread. How is Gabriel an authority figure in GK2? All he does is bumble around with hunting clubs and get sick. =P

From the OED:
McGuffin, n.
Also MacGuffin, Maguffin, and with lower-case initial(s).
In a film or work of fiction: a particular event, object, factor, etc., which assumes great significance to the characters and acts as the impetus for the sequence of events depicted, although often proving tangential to the plot as it develops.
1939 A. HITCHCOCK Lect. at Univ. Columbia 30 Mar. (Typescript, N.Y. Mus. Mod. Art: Dept. Film & Video) In regard to the tune, we have a name in the studio, and we call it the ‘MacGuffin’. It is the mechanical element that usually crops us in any story. In crook stories it is always the necklace and in spy stories it is always the papers. We just try to be a little more original.
. . .
Since I have yet to play EMI all the way through the end, I'd rather not know any more about the Ultimate Insult than that it's the thing everybody's looking for.

Were you not paying attention to the series? Gabriel is the last Schattenjager, a sort of mystic knight appropriated with powers from... well... a higher power To the people of Rittersburg, anyway, he's a hero figure... |

C4 - It's from Grim Fandango. I do not know the exact spell (I'm spanish, so I haven't played the english version), but Manny says: "I need a lead on a rich and dead saint". Something like that.
D4 - Very powerful and legendary voodoo artifact from Escape from Monkey Island, with great powers of intimidation.
E1 - Day of the Tentacle: the only one in wich you cannot die.
Grabriel Knight -SOTF : the first of the series, the others are sequels.
E2 - Escape from Monkey Island : Is the only one using three dimensional graphics.
Escape from Monkey Island : Is the worst with big difference.
Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge : The title does not contain any prepositions (like "for" or "from")
For the last one, I have included all the posibilities I have found, with the reasons.

"worst" is not really objective (though I certainly agree!), the preposition stuff is weak, and Curse of Monkey Island was 3 dimensional as well, in a way

I still think the answer to E2 is Escape from Monkey Island. A new reason:
Is the only in which there are two villains and the main one is not LeChuck
Other possiblity: The asnwer is "The Curse of Monkey Island": Is the only game of four in which you do not meet Herman Toothroot. Also, is the only one in which Elaine seems to have interest in Guybrush.
I have thought another possibility right now. The answer is "Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge", because is the only one in which you do not go to Monkey Island. Also, is the one which start directly with a dialog between Guybrush and Elaine.

Willian, all your answers are pretty good.
Good job, the first quiz to be solved on its whole. Maybe I'll do another one along the same guidelines. In case anyone's interested, here are the answers I had in mind for the E category (invisibled)
E2. Monkey Island 2. The only one not to have voice acting in it (Monkey Island 1 was released in a new CD version with voice a while back. I've been trying to get it for years)
E4. Police Quest 1. The only game in which you didn't have to beat a maze.
