Here are four facts:

A. Super Smash Bros. (N64) has 12 playable characters.
B. Super Smash Bros. Melee (GCN) has 20+ playable characters.
C. Super Smash Bros. Melee has only 5 more characters than Super Smash Bros.
D. Super Smash Bros. has more characters than Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Now those first two are correct for sure, but the others seem to contradict them! How could they possibly be true???

I don't know. Melee is five characters long.

I don't think each of Kirby's powers count as a "different character"...

C. Ditto, D.M. Melee = 5 characters
D. The other characters aren't playable? (although there are 3573670327905709532 trophies in SSBM, if you're counting those)

Edit - removed as exactly the same as previous posters' invisible answers.

Huh? I just got an e-mail saying Unheard Voice replied to this, but I see nothing.

Invisible hint for second: Using the same logic, we could also say that Super Smash Bros. Melee has more characters than Super Smash Bros. Not much of a hint, but a start! I'll post another one on request.

I think I'm halfway there...

Statement C becomes acceptable if we assume that "characters" means "letters, numbers, punctuation marks, etc.," rather than "gnarly video game denizens." In that case, "Super Smash Bros. Melee" has exactly five more characters than "Super Smash Bros." -- the five letters in the word "melee."

Can anyone take this further and make Statement D work?

Good one here, mathgrant (what a character!)

That's why I think the invis tag should be removed. Half the posts in this thread are people answering the C part with invis.

I assume it's logical to say SSB has more personias (characters, people) playing, seeing as how there are more coppies of SSB sold than SSBM, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

But I don't know how to do invisible tags...

Should I just post my answer?

What Death Mage was commenting on was that the answer to C has been posted three times already because people did not see previously posted invisibled answers. highlight the first posts by Death Mage, Jen Aside, and Flash Bazbo to see the answer they posted.

To post with invisible tags, put {invisible} and {/invisible} around the text, except using [ ] instead of { }. Generally, to see how someone put something in their post, click on the edit post icon, which is the third icon to the right of the date and time at the top of each post. This shows their post the way they typed it in.

Generally, yes this works. This is, however, NOT the case with the [invisible] tag, as it will show the HTML code and NOT the UBB code.

Only in some posts does it do this. For example, in Flash Bazbo's post it shows the HTML code, but it shows the invisible tags in mathgrant's.

I once had entered a message where I had the opening INVISIBLE tag, but forgot the closing one, and I think it replaced the tag with a FONT tag when I went to reedit. I made it INVISIBLE again and added the closing tag and that stayed.

No one has gotten my intended answer for D.

Invisible BIG HINT:

Super Smash Bros. has 12 more characters than Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Well, the game Super Smash Bros. has more characters than the string "Super Smash Bros. Melee" (which is zero) .

Close enough ralph. Super Smash Bros. has 12 characters, but no Super Smash Bros. Melee subgames. 12>0
