A friend of mine is doing a silly quiz, set by his local pub. He has sent me some puzzles that he has had trouble answering, since I have not a clue myself, I thought I would post them here in the chance that you brainy lot might solve them.
They are in the style of this:
18 H on a G C
(18 Holes on a Golf Course)
These are the one's we are stuck on........
1) 9 G is 1 F
2) 150 P - G C 'E A
3) 15 P in a R U T
4) 7 C in the R
5) 1M = 20 B of C
6) 26 P for a F C S
7) 1 E of the C
8) 2 S on a T
Sorry I have not the answers here, but any help is taken with gratitude. |

| 5 would appear to be Bottles of Champagne... but 20 bottles is a Nebuchadnezzar... the only one that starts with M is a Methuselah which is 8 bottles. |

6. Looks like '26 points for' something. Maybe a five card straight? or something like that.

Good help there Jas, thanks.
I've had my mind on 26 points too Groza, but for what I don't know? I toyed with the possibility of a crib score, but for one I cannot remember the highest hand score (23? with 1 jack, 3 fives and a jack turn up?), plus F C S does not really meet with anything cribby! |

| Could it be 26 Players in a Football Club Squad? .... 26 sounds about right but I can't confirm it anywhere. |

Aga: It's 29. Three fives and a jack that isn't the same suit as any of them, with the last five turning up as the starter card.

ronl, it seems likely that the ending of that one is "... 'em all." I can't figure out how that helps, though.
[edit]
I changed my mind. It does help.
150 Pokemon - Gotta Catch 'em All
Would it help if I mentioned that I have 3 kids?

All those answers sound pretty good, thanks again and keep it up, smashing.
