I am not annoyed by them because my browser preferences have been set in a way that nothing moves.
But if I remember correctly, they were uselessly annoying on public computers. There is a really easy way that should get rid of them that doesn't even let Antrax spend hours of time coding. (Right now any thread with 100 posts will have the animated icon. I could set this to a number we will never reach, like 5000 :) )
But should they go?
