Update: Scum Leonidas (rotweiler) was lynched. Townie Mackay (Snoopy) was torn apart. Scum amb (pitbull) gets lynched, town wins.

Welcome to Canine Capers.

In this kennel, we find an astonishing collection of more or less famous cartoon dogs, be it from strips, TV series or movies. As you can imagine, there is little ill feeling between these creatures. Too bad that some sinister real dogs have managed to infiltrate the kennel, with the clear intent to kill all those cute little doggies..... Melancholy

The role descriptions follow the same lay-out for everyone:
PLAYER NAME:
ROLE NAME:
[picture]
GENERIC ROLE:
Information.

All the role descriptions of those on the town's side start off with "You are on the towns side and win when all the bad dogs are dead. "

The rules (you should know them):
01] Have fun and don't be a jerk. Please have consideration for the other players and the mod, and actually PLAY the game by posting and voting.
[02] No communication outside the thread unless your role allows you to do so and then only in the game's nights.
[03] Get your choices in before the deadlines. If not, a random choice will be made for the first night, and no choice for subsequent nights.
[04] No quoting my or others emails/PMs.
[05] If you're dead YOU'RE DEAD. No more posting relevant information after that.
[06] Lynching will be carried out once a regular majority is reached - and cannot be undone by unvoting. If I impose a day deadline, lynching will require at least half of the regular majority. In case of a tie, first come first served. In the endgame (six players or less) only lynches with a regular majority will occur.
[07] Only votes in BOLD will be counted. Please clearly unvote if you want to change your vote.
[08] Do NOT edit or delete your posts! If you made a coding error, just post again.
[09] Do NOT post in invisible text.
[10] You are not allowed to quote or paraphrase your winning condition, unless you want to risk a modslaying.
[11] It is risky to lynch someone based on spelling errors in their role name. I have been known to make some in the set-up of my games.
[12] The mod is always right. Accept the decisions, and if you want to discuss them, take it to email, or do so after the game has finished.

Still in the kennel [5]
9. L'layne
10. amb
11. MadMax
15. Talitha
20. Jedo the Jedi (temp: SamadhiDa5id)

Dog gone [15]
5. Samadhi (Huckleberry Hound, townie, torn apart night 1)
6. Loudmouthlee (Spike, paranoid townie, kicked out day 1)
7. IS (Sam Sheepdog, doctor, torn apart night 2)
16. ralphmerridew (Hong Kong Phooey, vig, torn apart night 2)
18. Soothsayer (Droopy, overachiever, kicked out day 2)
3. Quailman (Doggie Daddy, mason, torn apart night 3)
19. Werebear (Rotweiler, scum, kicked out day 3)
12. Sweetwater (Lady, role name finder, torn apart night 4)
2. Mgm (Pitbull, scum, kicked out day 4)
17. mith (Odie, townie, torn apart night 5)
13. ShanterusanPeregrin (Muttley, traitor/Pitbull, kicked out day 5)
1. Chienfou (Rotweiler, scum, torn apart night 6)
4. Logain (Pitbull, scum, torn apart night 6)
14. Leonidas (Rotweiler, scum, kicked out day 6)
8. Mackay (Snoopy, town torn apart night 7)

Revealed roles:

Player name: SAMADHI
Role name: HUCKLEBERRY HOUND

Generic role: TOWNIE
You are on the towns side and win when all the bad dogs are dead.

Player name: LOUDMOUTHLEE
Role name: SPIKE

Generic role: PARANOID TOWNIE
You are on the towns side and win when all the bad dogs are dead. Every night you have the choice to go to sleep or not. If you sleep, you are like any other townie. If you are awake, you are going to attack and kill any dog coming to you, be they mafia, Sk, cop, doc or whatever. You cannot stay awake for two nights in a row. Please email me your choice, "sleep" or "wake".

Player name: IS
Role name: SAM SHEEPDOG

Generic role: DOCTOR
You are on the towns side and win when all the bad dogs are dead. Every night you can protect one player from a single attack by guarding them (a double attack will kill anyway); you cannot protect yourself.

Player name: RALPHMERRIDEW
Role name: HONGKONG PHOOEY

Generic role: MULTI-SHOT VIGILANTE
You are on the towns side and win when all the bad dogs are dead. You can use your kung-fu skills any night you like to kill a player of your choice. Please email me either the name, or "no kill".

Player name: SOOTHSAYER
Role name: DROOPY

Generic role: OVER-ACHIEVER
You are on the towns side and win when all the bad dogs are dead. Your are the hero, and as such you are prepared to take over from either a cop or a doctor, whomever dies first. Should they die in the same night, you get to choose whom you will replace.

Player name: QUAILMAN
Role name: DOGGIE DADDY

Generic role: MASON
You are on the towns side and win when all the bad dogs are dead. As masons, you can discuss during the nights.

Player name: WEREBEAR, CHIENFOU, LEONIDAS
Role name: Rotweiler

Generic role: SCUMBAG

Player name: SWEETWATER
Role name: THE LADY

Generic role: ROLE NAME FINDER
You are on the towns side and win when all the bad dogs are dead. As a cocker spaniel, the mod has a crush on you. You can ask the mod every night to give you the role name of a player of your choice. If you pick a mafia or serial killer, you will get a name of a dog not actually in the game and that player will be informed of it as well - so be careful!

Player name: MGM, LOGAIN
Role name: Pitbull

Generic role: SCUMBAG

Player name: MITH
Role name: ODIE

Generic role: TOWNIE
You are on the towns side and win when all the bad dogs are dead.

Player name: SHANTERUSAN/PEREGRIN
Role name: MUTTLEY

Generic role: TRAITOR
Please pay attention, because your alignment is flexible. You would love to be recruited by the mafia, but unless they do so, you win with the town (i.e. all bad dogs gone). If you are recruited, your alignment changes, and you win with the mafia that recruits you.

Player name: MACKAY
Role name: SNOOPY

Generic role: TOWNIE
You are on the towns side and win when all the bad dogs are dead.

DAY 1:
The sun also rises over our little kennel. Suspiciously you start sniffing around, and before you know it you find the remains of a dead dog, brutally torn apart. Poor Huckleberry Hound. A simple townie bites the dust, a townie known to you also as Samadhi.
Nineteen left to bark, ten to kill.

Random vote Werebear

I would like to point out that the mafia probably contains experienced players because they attacked Sam who is also an experienced player. Someone who hasn't played with Samadhi quite so often wouldn't think to get him out of the way. So, I suppose my vote isn't completely random, but other than the stuff mentioned above, I have no basis.

Just checkin' in.

Samadhi is also known to get attacked by newer players, who find him intimidating.

On with the voting!
vote: amb Welcome back! I didn't even notice you were playing. Consider this an "I've missed you" vote. I can't do something nice, because you're from New Zealand and, therefore, suck.

Of the people alive, I'd believe that CF, Quailman, Logain, IS, L'layne, Sweetwater, ralphmerridew, mith, and Soothsayer have probably been around at least as long as I have and would be familiar with Samadhi's skills. (I tend to think of him as being more dangerous as scum, though that's probably bias after watching the endgame to Discworld.)
I don't know about Mgm, LML, Mackay, amb, MadMax, shanterusan, Leonidas, Talitha, Werebear and Jedo, but I'd guess at least half of them would know that Samadhi's effective.

So your claim that somebody among the scum knows about Samadhi is pretty empty; even picking 3 scum, you'd probably get somebody who'd know to pick Sama (or most anyone in my first list); with 4-5 scum, it's almost a certainty.

We disagree with the statement that an experienced player is more likely to be killed by another experienced player. Experienced players will try to avoid anything that might connect a kill to them. We would think that experienced player would be more sure of their ability to hold their own and therefore less intimitated by Samadhi than a relativly new player who was impressed by his skills in the one or two games they played with him in.

Opens drinks stall "Get your Saturn 5's here". New recipe: Grappa, slivovicz, barack, vodka, made up to half a litre with potato wine once distilled. About 25% by volume. Guaranteed to put you permanently in orbit. Looks for a site for AhoInu and that fat slob LocoLobo to open a sushi and pizza internet cafe. Keyboards extra large so they can be pressed by noses.

Checks lamp-posts in good condition. They need to be repainted weekly.

Sweeps front path to Asimere Kennels Inc.

Contemplates problem of 19 sided dice. (Well actually 18, since it's sensible to exclude oneself). Ah! D6 used as D3 + D6.

Rolls: 4 5

(4|3)x6+5 = 11 (excludes No.s 1 and 5) = No.13

Vote Shanterusan

Burns down LocoLobo's local pizzeria. Puts in offer on rustic half timbered kennel currently serving meat and biscuits twice daily:

OFFER accepted! Rent: 2 bones per week and retention of digging rights.

Right! That's got that fat slob going again. "Poochi on the Park" will shortly re-open. Watch this space. Engages personal trainer for KrankiHund, Buys AhoInu new kimono and sandals. Throws empty pizza boxes in street and sends LocoLobo for fitting for chef costume.

Attends funeral. Weeps quietly (but not enough to damage mascara)

Phew! enough for first morning's work.

To be honest, RM, This game is seriously a mafia allstar game.

The ONLY person who might have NO clue about Samadhi, IMHO, is Shanter.

As of right now, pick ANY 5 players in the list, and you have a scary mafia group.

With that - Unvote: Tally and Vote: RM

That initial post seems to be some heavy metagaming this early. I don't think it's wise, and it seems awfully scummy.

I agree, that's crap reasoning. The scum kill could've hit a multitude of experienced players. There's no reason to assume a relative new player was involved.

I've just been having the "honest" discussion in the MMV game. I used it as a reason to vote someone and Samadhi took exception. So I did some research on the word "honestly" in a few recent mafiascum games and it turned out that 50% of the people who used it were scum.

I missed the fact that Lee said it here.

To be honest (Wink), I've picked up a habit of saying it since I moved over here. Brit sports people say it an awful lot (along with "to be fair"). Slipped out in a recent game and Leo called me on it (and I was scum, as well). I'm not sure how much correlation it has though. Some people just say it a lot. Interesting stat though, I'd be curious to see whether it holds up over a larger sample.

Correct the spelling of the English teacher. Feel better? Revenge most foul!

The fist part of the quote, though, AKA "The breaking down of people who definately know Samadhi" vs. "The people who MIGHT know Samadhi" seems to be a mafia distancing tool. (shrug) It's DAY 1 and I felt it was the best piece of evidence thus far.

The fact that RM didn't agree, well, is moot. Tell me, Mithy, your scumdar didn't do wheelies when you saw RM break down the rest of the town into groups?

I don't see it that way at all. I see it as a perfectly reasonable response to Jedo's post. He went into more detail than I would have (and that's saying something), but that's not an indication of scumminess.
