At Platform 9 3/4, everyone boards the train to begin the long trek to Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. During the seven hour trip, everyone gets to know each other and see who they are up against.

Soon, the trolley comes by and everyone eats some lunch. Shortly after finishing their midday meal, everyone drifts off to sleep because it is such a long trip and they want to be wide awake when they arrive. Well, not everybody...

THE RULES (stolen from the mafia gods):

[01] Have fun and don't be a jerk. Please have consideration for the other players and the mod, and actually PLAY the game by posting and voting.
[02] No communication outside the thread unless your role allows you to do so and then only in the game's nights.
[03] Get your choices in before the deadlines. If not, a random choice will be made for the first night, and no choice for subsequent nights.
[04] No quoting my or others emails/PMs.
[05] If you're dead YOU'RE DEAD. No more posting relevant information after that.
[06] Lynching will be carried out once a regular majority is reached - and cannot be undone by unvoting. If I impose a day deadline, lynching will require at least half of the regular majority. In case of a tie, first come first served. In the endgame (six players or less) only lynches with a regular majority will occur.
[07] Only votes in BOLD will be counted. Please clearly unvote if you want to change your vote.
[08] Do NOT edit or delete your posts! If you made a coding error, just post again.
[09] Do NOT post in invisible text.
[10] You are not allowed to quote or paraphrase your winning condition, unless you want to risk a modslaying.
[11] It is risky to lynch someone based on spelling errors in their role name. I have been known to make some in the set-up of my games.
[12] The mod is always right. Accept the decisions, and if you want to discuss them, take it to email, or do so after the game has finished.

As the train pulls into the platform at Hogsmeade, everyone begins to awake and gather their belongings. The first years follow Hagrid to the boats, and the remaining students proceed to the carriages to be carried to Hogwarts.

Once everyone reaches the Great Hall and the sorting has ended, people begin to chat amongst themselves as they eat dinner. Of course, they soon begin to notice that Dumbledore is missing. Professor McGonagall stands up and asks everyone to remain calm as a few other teachers break off to look for him.

In the mean time, another teacher is noticed to be missing. Where is Professor Umbridge? After losing her position as Hogwarts High Inquisitor and Headmistress of Hogwarts, she retained her position as Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher (much to the students' dismay.)

Soon, the teachers return with terrible news. Albus Dumbledore was found dead in his office, along with Professor Umbridge. Apparently, she wanted her positions back, so she attacked him with an unforgivable curse: Avada Kedavra. It seems that Dumbledore had become slow and could not deflect the curse fast enough. Shortly thereafter, Professor Umbridge died as well, from a snake bite.

What does this all mean? Is Hogwarts still safe? What will happen next? The students and teachers continue their meal, discussing the night's events.

jadesmar: Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, role-finder is dead.
Mr Stoofer: Professor Jane Umbridge, mafia goon is dead.

It is now 18 alive, 10 to lynch.

Well, it sucks that we lost a role-finder on the first night, but there's also a goon down. So what, we have a SK, too? Arghh...

That's a pretty accurate assessment, right?

Yeah, I figured somebody would do that... Well, I now have my very first vote. I'm surprised it took that long though, based on what I've seen of previous games. However, I just wanted to see if that's pretty much what everybody else thought too. So, is that pretty accurate?

Alright, now I think I already admitted that this is my first (well, concurrent with my first) game. I'm really just naturally anxious, and I will talk when things are slowly moving, so coupled with the fact that I'm bad at making things sound sincere, I'm probably in for a lot of trouble.

But please, LML, tell me this vote is not being influenced by Mgm's game.

Not that it matters, but I would like to say that I'm not scum. And thanks for that bit of support TCM. I thought I had an idea of what to expect from reading a lot of past games, but I guess not. I'm trying to be a better townie. Any advice on how to do so is greatly appreciated...

Of course not! I don't hold grudges in games. That would make me a shady person, and a shady character.

TCM knows better than most about my "unorthodox" play style. Revenge most foul!

Oh, ok. Sorry, I should have realized that. I just thought he might have said he'd be away or something, but since that appears not to be the case, then FOS: Robinson. Why hasn't he posted yet? It's a bit hard to trust someone who has a title of "Trust me." and still hasn't shown up.

Since I started it, FOS: referee and FOS: Uraj too. I briefly looked around, and I couldn't find any posts by them saying they would be away... I mean, Uraj already has two votes.

Also, sorry cballs for possibly sending unwarranted suspicion your way. I didn't catch the joke, but apparently I wasn't the only one.

Yes, LoudmouthLee is perfectly in character. I believe he's a townie. I FoSed him more to remind the town that hagfy is still feeling things out than to cast aspersions at LML's character. I have no concrete proof of his innocence, but he's at least acting logical, and playing like he usually does. I have faith in him for now, despite the fact that his magical voting wand is still pointed squarely at my chest.

Bayard: can you offer any evidence more concrete than your indigestion? Because you're coming off like a cop trying not to tip his hand. And I'm pretty damn sure that you didn't investigate me last night.
